1 | Dead Man's Bones bring life? | 2 Kin 13:21 | wist ye not | 109334 | ||
Here it is in the RSV," 20 So Eli´sha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. 21 And as a man was being buried, lo, a marauding band was seen and the man was cast into the grave of Eli´sha; and as soon as the man touched the bones of Eli´sha, he revived, and stood on his feet Was this man really dead? Did a dead man's bones bring him back to life? It wasn't a question of faith on his part if he was truly dead. |

From this Scripture we assume that the man was dead. Is faith necessary for God to act as He wills? The bones of Elisha had no restorative power, but God does. As another example, read John 9:1-7 Did mud make the blind man see or did God? Verse 3 perhaps contain an answer to the account of the dead man and Elisha's bones: "it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him." I just offer this as something to consider; perhaps other have some different insight into the account of this event. Blessings, mommapbs |
