1 | Difference of rows of pillars | 1 Kin 7:2 | stevee | 172803 | ||
1 Kings 7:2 states that "there were 4 rows of Pillars". Verse 3 states that "there were 45 pillars with 15 to a row". This only allows for 3 rows? Please comment on difference between the 2 verses. |

Here is the passage from Jay Green's Literal Version: 1Ki 7:2 And he built the house of the forest of Lebanon. Its length was a hundred cubits, and its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits on four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar beams on the pillars. 1Ki 7:3 And it was covered with cedar above, on the sides that lay on forty-five pillars, fifteen in a row. The cedar covering only rested upon three of the rows. We are not told how many pillars there were total, just how many were in the three rows that held the cedar cover. Apparently the fourth row was not part of the support for the cedar covering. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
