1 | Error of pi in 1 Kings | 1 Kin 7:23 | Nibelhim | 150304
On another forum called e-philosopher, a person found a referance in 1 kings 7:23. This verse shows an error in the calculation of pi. Any ideas as to why?
2 | Error of pi in 1 Kings | 1 Kin 7:23 | Morant61 | 150310
Greetings Nibelhim! To Doc's excellent response, I would add one other possibility. The circumerence given could just be an approximation. The Bible is not a math text book and to require a precise measurement of pi would be beyond the intent of Scripture. Besides, everyone approximates pi to one degree or another. How many decimal places must one use to be considered 'accurate'? ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
