1 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Morant61 | 37553
Greetings Popdzl! Thanks for the response! I searched the web using the name you provided. What I found is that these 'meanings' are based on occultism, not found in the Bible nor inherent to the Hebrew alphabet. Given the Bible's warnings against occultism, is this really the reason behind the letters of Psalm 119? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Magnum | 37666
Say What???? The Hebrew letters have numerical value, since the Hebrew people had no numerical system. Alef equals 1 Bet is 2 etc. How does occultism come into this?
3 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Morant61 | 37668
Greetings Magnum! The concept being presented was not that Hebrew letters have numerical values, but that Hebrew letters have secret mystical meanings. If you do a word search for the author mentioned above, you will find his web sites where he talks about taking the mystical meanings from tarot cards and other occult systems. Simply put, letters are letters. Combinations of letter create words. These words have meaning and create sentences. This is where the meaning of language comes from, not from arbitrary hidden meanings assigned by occultists who have no objective source for these supposed meanings. My pet peeve is people who look for hidden meanings, when all they need to do is heed the clear meaning of the text itself! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
