God's throne is a picture of His authority and judgement. In this case the Psalmist means that God's Power, Authority, and Judgement are for all time; before time and into eternity. JWs feel compelled to change the translation because of it's implications for Jesus, as it is quoted in Hebrews. Translating this in another manner, I think, minimizes these aspects of God, and His eternal sovereignty. However, because the writer of Hebrews quoted this scripture, the JWs now have a problem with Ps 45:6, and with Heb 1:5-14. The problem for JWs is that Heb says this psalm refers to the Son, although it says "Thy throne, Oh, God,..." It talks of Jesus as the Son Of God, superior to the angels. JWs try to deny the divinity of Jesus by calling Him a created being, just like the angels. Clearly, the writer of Hebrews show us the Truth about Jesus-He is God! Amen! Heardmycry. | ||||||
