1 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | Hank | 40244
In Job 38:1 to 41:34 God asks Job a series of questions, 83 in all. What is the significant thing about these questions? How many of these questions can you answer? What point is God driving home to Job? --Hank
2 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40246
hi hank-angel1 here--I can't believe you don't get the point of these questions.--it seems obvious to me that HE is saying "who do you think you are?" The answer is "i-Job_- am nothing-just as we are nothing and HE is all. in Him-angel 1
3 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | Hank | 40250
My dear angel 1: Why would you assume that I don't get the point of the questions? Have you not heard, dear one, of the didactic value of asking certain questions? Socrates used this device all the time. By the way what strikes you as the singularly most remarkable thing about these questions that God put to Job? (Hint: How many of them could Job answer?) --Hank
4 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40254
hi hank-forgive me if i misunderstood the purpose of your question.the socratic method is well known. and the best one Intellectually. 5 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | Hank | 40266
Angel 1, I'll do better than forgive; I'll confess that I find nothing in your response that remotely needs forgiveness :-) Curiosity, that slayer of cats, prompts me to ask, having read your user profile, whether you are a member of that Army of smiling faces who ring the little bells outside store fronts at Yuletide? --Hank
6 | The point of God's questions to Job? | Job | angel1 | 40367
Hank--you must be a poet--and you gave me a true God filled laugh-yes He does have a sense of HUMOR. He gave us "that slayer of cats" so we could continue to seek Him and know we have ETERNAL life -not just 9 of them. By the way i don't ring the "little bells" but I don't think it's a bad thing. Thanks for the laugh I needed it today. God Bless--angel1
