Tamar was the half-sister of Amnon. She was he daughter of Maach, a princess of Geshur, one of David's wives. Amnon was David's first-born, the son of Ahinoam of Jezereel. Absalom was also the son of Maacah. At this time, Amnon was about 22 years old; Absalom, 20; Tamar, 15; and Solomon, 2. David was 53 years old. The Chapter begins with "Absalom," as if the Holy Spirit is warning us that the coming rebellion led by Absalom begins here, which is another subject dealt with later on, in this Book of Samuel. I can't say their were any who desired this type of 'wanting,' because Amnon used a plan of deception to create this opportunity, and on top of that he took her against her will. I will say there were some in the Old Testament who were married to their Half- Sisters. The Levitical Laws in that time were held with the utmost, and if you read in the great Book of Leviticus in the 20th Chapter, this should help with your curiosity. May the Lord be with you.
