1 | How long did David knew Bathsheba? | 2 Sam 11:3 | True Friend | 30292
I read somewhere that David may have met Bathsheba before the incident where he saw her washing herself. I cannot remember the Scripture reference and would appreciate any help. Thanks True Friend |

2 | How long did David knew Bathsheba? | 2 Sam 11:3 | EdB | 30326
I think if David was the leader he is said to be he knew Bathsheba. Or atleast he did after II Sam 11:3. Bathsheba was the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah both who were considered "Mighty Men of David" II Sam 23:34. This made Bathsheba the granddaughter of Ahithophel David's close advisor II Sam 23:34. I further think this is why Ahithophel advised Absalom to take David's concubines II Sam 17:21 in plain view of the people to shame him as David had shamed his family. Yes I think David knew exactly who Bathsheba was and probably met her when the Mighty Men of David came together with their families to their yearly company picnic. :-) Seriously there is too many common acquaintances for me to think David was unaware of who Bathsheba was. I also think this shows the chauvinist attitude of the men toward the women of this time. EdB |
