Prayon I'm not arguing with anything you said, but I wonder if we don't spiritualize Ruth a little more than we should. I have heard many comparisons between book of Ruth and the Christ's work of redemption and I don't see it. Ruth exhibited may traits, Loyalty she left everything to stay with Naomi, Love through her love she cared for her mother in law, Hardwork she provided for both, Integrity she didn't take anything not offered, Obedience she did exactly what Naomi told her to do, Purity there was never any act of indiscretions in her life, Patience she waited for things to work out. Ruth is a loving caring righteous obedient servant that Boaz had the wisdom to appreciate and redeem. Prior to our salvation none of those things could be said about us, God loved us when we were most unloveable. Jesus wasn’t our kinsman redeemer we weren’t of God it is by salvation we are adopted into the family. To me the Story of Ruth is more a story of God’s faithfulness as a rewarder of those that have faith in Him. Naomi had no one nothing left yet she was one of God’s, through Ruth God provided for her and Ruth, and even Boaz. Everything we see in Ruth is a story of hard work, loyalty, love, patience, wisdom, righteousness, kindness, goodness, and trust in God. EdB |

Greetings Ed! Just getting around to answering some more emails - I had 189 when I got home. I certainly did not mean to sound as if I was spiritualizing Ruth. She was just a woman who God used. I agree with you, it is a story of God's rewarding faithfulness. prayon |
