1 | How did Moses know he was Jewish? | Exodus | Jsph | 229454 | ||
Beja, By all means ask. How else will God's people see eye to eye? In response to your reply... First let me just say that I believe justification is a righteous process, therefore a pardon of sins have had to already taken place and that would be repentance. However I will try to explain how I see it. Sanctification means to be set apart or aside. You may ask aside for what? Peter best describes this in 2PT.2:20-21. So in a sense, the sanctification is done by God. How does God know who to sanctify? He knows by the seal they will have (2Pt.2:19 and Eph.4:30) which only comes by the baptism of the holy spirit. Once the spirit of God is working inside, we begin to pray in the spirit and it will help us in our weaknesses. Paul said in 1Cor.14:15 ... I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. Because the spirit will help us understand better the truth of the word of God (Jn.16:13) As we continue in our walk with God in prayers, in fasting, reading, and studying we begin to learn of him and of his great love (Mt.11:29). That Love causes all things that come against us to work for good, (Rom.8:28) because we are to glory in tribulations (Rom.5:3)... it will cause us to walk worthy of His calling (Col.1:10, 1Thes.2:12) which is predestined. That is not a set thing, it is a matter of choice, because not all are automatically children of God... My point, is that its both working at the same time. We are being sanctified at the same time justified, sanctification cannot come without justification and that is not of ourselves lest we should boast and say that is of what "I" that saved me (Eph.2:8-9). Remember he is the potter and we are the clay, he is molding us and shaping us for his use. It is however up to us if we are to be vessels of honor or vessels of dishonor 2Tim.2:20. Faith in my understanding is in fact the truth we have learned, applied in our lives. It is what in fact drives us, just as it drove those in the old testament (some mentioned in Hebrews 11). So if you allow me to interject here my definition into the scripture in Hebrews 11:1... By THE APPLIED TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD IN DAILY LIFE is the substance hoped for, the evidence OF ETERNAL LIFE not YET seen. That is how we are made fit for the Master's use... Hope I was clear... |

JSPH, So you are saying that the process of sanctifying us is in fact the process of justifying us. Correct? Assuming I have you right (and please dont' skip telling me yes or no on that) doesn't that mean you are saying justification comes from sanctification? I dont mean that one finishes and then the other begins. I mean purely from a logical standpoint. If we are being justified through the process of sanctification, then aren't you at least logically if not temporally making justification the cause of sanctification? In Christ, Beja |
