Scripture Cathedral Wow! That is no small task. Very briefly. Moses was born a Hebrew after a edict that all male Hebrews newborns would be put to death. to preserve his life his mother placed him in a the river and Pharaoh’s sister found him. She took him as her own and raised him a Egyptian royalty. When Moses became of age he defended a Hebrew against an task master. Killing the man. Pharaoh then ordered Moses into exile in the desert. Moses came to the land of Midian and there he lived with Raul and took one of his daughters for a wife. 40 years later Moses saw the burning bush and had a life changing experience with God. God commanded that he return to Egypt and lead God's people to the promise land. We are shown many of Moses flaws and weaknesses but God is able to accomplish much with a willing person. Moses returns to Egypt and after the Ten Plagues God makes a way for the Children of Israel to leave. Moses many times realizes his awesome responsibility and cries out to God who reminds Moses it is God not Moses that is accomplishing everything. Later Moses out of frustration with the people and anger ignores God's instructions and strikes a stone God has told him to speak to. Moses for that disobedience is not allowed to enter the promise land and turns control over to Joshua. Moses dies and God buried him. How is that for a short sweet summary of Moses life. If you have any questions please ask. Someone on the forum will be sure to get you an answer. EdB |
