1 | "sons of God saw daughters of men?" | Genesis | Morant61 | 203298 | ||
Greetings Quvmoh! In the Net Bible, the phrase 'sons of God' only occurs nine times in all of Scripture. These verses are listed below. ____________________ (Gen 6:2) the sons of God saw that the daughters of humankind were beautiful. Thus they took wives for themselves from any they chose. (Gen 6:4) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days (and also after this) when the sons of God were having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. They were the mighty heroes of old, the famous men. (Job 1:6) Now the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD — and Satan also arrived among them. (Job 2:1) Again the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also arrived among them to present himself before the LORD. (Job 38:7) when the morning stars sang in chorus, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Luk 20:36) In fact, they can no longer die, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection. (Rom 8:14) For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. (Rom 8:19) For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God. (Gal 3:26) For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. _______________ There simply isn't enough evidence to be dogmatic about any view concerning the identity of the 'sons of God' in Genesis. Clearly, some of the verses refer to human believers, but others could have different meanings. In my view, it is best not to cling too tightly to any particular view. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

The key is this verse: (Gal 3:26) For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. With that said we must then accept other Beings and/or people having Faith: The Nephilim Now also accept that some are not on Earth: (Gen 6:4) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days Keep in mind that Earth simply means dry land. Genesis 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. |
