34881 Playing with the NT Greek text? Rev 22:19 kalos 55763
Why does the New World Translation insert the word Jehovah in the New Testament when there are absolutely no Greek manuscripts that have it in there? Isn’t this playing with the text?
34882 Justify Leviticus 20:13 Rev 22:19 Leviticus 60269
How can any 'modern' Christian justify the Leviticus 20:13. Those who preach the 'word of the lord' should realise how offensive and archaic such a statement is. Don't be fooled by religion - it is merely a way of controlling the masses and preventing creative, independent thought.
34883 Were the apocrypha part of original KJV? Rev 22:19 JAH 157538
A Muslim friend asked me, "did the original King James translation include the apocrypha?"
His question was posed in the context of a one on one discussion of why Christians trust translations of the Bible, and trust copies of the Biblical language manuscripts.
I don't know the purpose of his question. It may be a small curiosity on his part. Muslims believe their book in Arabic is "unaltered" and are puzzled by Christian practice of translating into every language.
At least I'll have another factiod to give him to continue friendly discussion, hopefully move to evangelizing him.
34884 Conjecture or opening scripture? Rev 22:19 loobylight 160374
Hi. I am preaching this week on Rev 3 - the letter to the Laodicean church. I have felt compelled to 'rewrite' that letter to my own congregation. Where do you think the line might be between heresy and conjecture and opening up the scripture? I ahve stayed true to the scripture. Yes, i have embellished and opened out the word - eg 'are you stale?' etc. helpful insight welcome!

34885 Will Christ be coming back very soon? Rev 22:20 AndrewB 51689
Are we really in the final days when Jesus Christ will appear within the next couple of years?
34886 Not praying for the end of the world Rev 22:20 jburchel 77359
I remember a scripture passage that warns against praying for the end of the world to come, saying that God doesn't want us to, and I think elaborating that the reason was that we would be praying for the lost to be forever lost since the end would mean their demise in their lost state. Does anyone know the reference for this verse? I've searched and searched and cannot find it!

Thanks very much in advance!
34887 The truth in Revelation? Rev 22:20 pooh wong 94526
What is John realy trying to say in Revelation?
34888 WHY DO WE SEEK A SIGN? Rev 22:20 Frank N DeBois 157758
I NOTICED THAT A MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED WITH TRYING TO DETERMINE THING LIKE, 'WHO IS THE ATICHRIST; THE BEAST; THE NUMBER 666 OR 616; THE TIME OF JESUS THE CHRIST'S RETURN; ETC.'. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A NOTE HERE THAT WE SHOULD BE MORE INTERESTED IN BEING READY FOR CHRIST'S RETURN AND LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, NOT LIVING IN FEAR OF IT TO THE POINT THAT THESE THINGS ARE MAKING US RESTLESS. READ 1 JOHN 4:13-19
[from the KJV, use your preference]
1Jo 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
IN THIS SCRIPTURE HE TELLS US HOW WE KNOW THAT WE ARE HIS SO THAT WE CAN HAVE CONFIDENCE WHEN CHRIST COMES IN JUDGEMENT.
ANOTHER THING IS THAT REVELATION WAS NOT MEANT TO SCARE US, BUT TO CONSOLE US... WHICH HE TELLS US IN THE FIRST FEW VERSES OF REVELATION. Rev 1:1-3
Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
YOU SEE HERE THAT HE IS CALLING 'THOSE WHO READ IT TO OTHERS AND THOSE WHO HEAR IT BEING READ AND KEEP THEM', ARE BLESSED. BY WHOM... OF COURSE BY GOD HIMSELF... IF THAT IS NOT A COMFORT THEN THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE IN OUR LIVES THAT IS BRINGING THE DISCOMFORT... LIKE MAYBE WHAT JOHN SPOKE OF IN THE EARLIER BOOK OF 1 JOHN 4 THAT I MENTIONED.
MY POINT IS THIS... JESUS SAID THAT 'ONLY A WICKED AND EVIL GENERATION LOOKS FOR A SIGN'. MATTHEW 12:38-41
Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
AND MATTHEW 16:1-12
Mat 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
IF WE GO AROUND LOOKING FOR A SIGN, THEN WE MISS WHAT OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR WAS TRYING TO TELL US... THAT 'WE ARE NOT FIGHTING AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD BUT AGAINST THE WORLDLY PRINCIPLES' THAT WE SEE SO ABUNDANT THIS WORLD... THAT IS SHOVING AT US FROM THE RIGHT AND FROM THE LEFT AT ALL TIMES.
READ ROMANS 8:38, EPHESIANS 6:12, COLOSIANS 2:15
WHEN WE KEEP THESE THINGS IN MIND, WE WILL BE PLEASING THE LORD AND BEING MADE PERFECT IN THE LOVE THAT GOD SPEAKS OF[NOT THE FALSE 'LOVE' OF THE WORLD]. THEN WE CAN BE SURE THAT WE ARE FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, RUNNING THE RACE, BY THE RULES, THAT GOD HAS SET BEFORE US. THEN THERE WILL BE NO MORE ROOM FOR FEAR, LIKE THE WORLD FEARS. WE WILL BE DOING LIKE JOHN IN REVELATION,[REVELATION 22:20-21] AND SAYING,"EVEN SO, COME, LORD JESUS." AND WE WILL BE 'ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER ALL THE MORE AS WE SEE THE DAY APROACHING.'[HEBREWS 10:25] BECAUSE YOU WILL SEE CLEARLY THAT THE DAY IS APPROACHING... NOT WONDERING WHEN.

THANKS FOR HEARING ME OUT ON THIS AND I HOPE THAT THIS ENCOURAGES THOSE WHO 'HAVE AN EAR TO HEAR'.
34889 The second coming of christ? Rev 22:20 Believer 1 227032
The 2nd coming of christ? I know about the book of Revelations, but this could also mean when you breath your last breath here on Earth.Correct? This is why they say the time is near.Isnt it?
34890 Have you seen His grace in your life? Rev 22:21 Searcher56 28672
Have you seen His grace in your life ... that is, are you ready for Him to come quickly or do you want Him to wait? Explain.
34891 where does it say you have a chosen mate Rev 22:21 peggling88 49310
Where exactly, in the Bible, does it say God has already chossen a spouse for you?
