1 | He believes in God not Jesus, is it ok? | 1 Cor 7:12 | youthguy | 161178
I may have confused you a little bit at the end there. I admit I misquoted Paul in my response. What Paul talks about are those who are already married when one becomes a believer. Like I said earlier, it's healthier and better for Christians to marry, and I must insert my opinion now. If you wish to marry him (since you are engaged) go through with it, but as to the spiritual relationship of your marriage, I'd expect a rough ride. Sorry about the mistake.
2 | He believes in God not Jesus, is it ok? | 1 Cor 7:12 | youthguy | 161177
Hey seekng_truth- In 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul is talking to the Corinthians about Christians and false teachers. He relates false teachers to servants of Satan (vs. 15). We can say that it talks about marriage to believers and unbelievers, but that wasn't its original intent. A reader cannot pick out portions of the Bible they like and discard portions they don't. 1 Corinthians 7:12-13 says that it's okay for non-believers to marry, but not divorce (except for certain circumstances). I think the term "unequally yoked" comes from Deuteronomy 22:10, where the command is not to yoke a donkey and an ox together to do work. We could easily apply this here, but that would be the wrong thing to do. As this CONCEPT (emphasis added)relates to marriage and relationships, I believe that it's healthier for a Christian to marry a Christian, but at the same time, I agree with Paul and am not completely against a Christian marrying an unbeliever. There will surely be some problems you'll have to overcome, but check out 1 Cor. 7 with an open mind and a good commentary. Greg |

3 | How do I ask? | Ps 115:3 | youthguy | 161174
Hey Jason- I agree with a lot that has been said. Your question concerned how you can ask Jesus to heal someone. Check out Luke 8:40-56. Yes, remember to pray in God's will, but as to your approach, I'd go to God just like a kid. Hope this helps. Greg |

4 | Is it wrong to date non-christians? | 2 Corinthians | youthguy | 161170
Hey Confused- I hear this question quite often from my students. The passage a lot of people consider when answering this question is 2 Corinthians 6:14. The passage was originally directed toward Corinthian believers hearing and believing the words of false prophets. The words of false prophets (servants of Satan- see vs. 15) cause disunity in the church. Now how that relates to dating per se, I don't think it does because Paul didn't address that issue to them. About dating a non-believer, the Bible doesn't mention that, but it does mention marriage. On the surface of things, it wasn't prohibited (1 Corinthians 7:12-13), but divorce was. Remember this though, that passage in 1 Corinthians 7 is Paul speaking, not the Lord. Remember that the Lord does not address the issue. As to you dating a non-Christian, I see no problem with it. I don't know all the details of your relationship, but I hope this is encouraging to you. Hold fast to the faith and stay strong. |

5 | Rain for the 1st time? | Gen 7:10 | youthguy | 161169
Hello- The Bible doesn't really say if this was the first time it rained. When God first created the world, land appeared out of the water (1:9) and, at God's Word, plants and trees came forth. I am of the opinion that God watered the earth on a regular basis, whether that's right or not, I can't be sure. In this section of the Bible (Genesis 6-7), God announces that the flood waters will come and the earth will be destroyed. I think 7:10 is simply there to show us when the flood waters came. |
