I do not feel that I need to spend my time reviewing every answer given on this site and referring to a ID#. Anyone who has been a member of this site any length of time knows the few that I am referring too, as you know. Instead, why don't we all go back and read through our own post as I have just done and judge ourselves. Amen. I will not argue back and forth trying to justify my position -------- winningside

Biblical love is pulling someone from the pits of hell. A sinner going down the wrong path. Correcting with a strong hand if need be. Not tearing to pieces another christian for asking a question. Not all people are on the same level at one time. You didn't start out "all-knowing" you learn and grow step-by-step. Sometimes you have to ask yourself "how would I answer this question if I were face to face with this person?" It is a brave thing to have the confort of looking at a computer screen. Rebuking with love is one thing and tearing to pieces is entirely another. Ecclesiasters 7:16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? ------- winningside |

What is wrong with this site. I have been a member for about a year now, and have asked several times. "Where is the love and compassion" People are chewed up, spit out, torn to pieces, called names, judged because they asked a question that doesn't measure up to your standards. You belittle them because they are maybe not a scholar such as yourself. Some people, like myself, are just regular church-going people who are trying their best to learn and grow. And all they get is belittled and threatened to be kicked out this wonder, scholar filled site. It is a few wonderful people on this site, but there are also quite a few that I am speaking of and you know who you are with your self-righteous selves. You don't have to threaten to kick me off just do it. But take it to heart. You will answer for your behavior some day. Examine yourselves. Yes I know, I need to examine myself too. -------- winningside
5 | I NEED A TRUE FRIEND THAT IS A CHRISTIAN | Bible general Archive 3 | winningside | 178460
Hi MommieSadie, Your message sounds like one I would have wrote years ago. Desperate for an answer and no answer was good enough. In fact, I still do not have that special christian friend. I have many christian acquaintances. But you know, God is good. He gives you what you need when you need it. Maybe God only wants me talking to him for now because my life sure is a mess too. Maybe God has set you apart for himself for now. To give yourself to prayer and study. People will come and go but God is here to stay. He knows you need someone or something in your life. He does not turn a deaf hear to those who love and obey him. Just give it to God. Everything is in his hands. He will give you what you need. But please do not give your address to anyone over the internet even on a christian website. All though, I am sure most regulars on this site are wonderful. There are still those on here who are just passing by. God can send you someone locally. Don't give up. Be of good courage and "stand" for the Lord. Psalm 4:3-4 [3] But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. [4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart. |

6 | Who is those "without" referring too? | Rev 22:15 | winningside | 178442
Who is Rev 22:15 referring too? My understanding is that the New Jerusalem is going to come down from God out of Heaven and we are going to live there so why does it say without are dogs, sorcerers and whoremongers, and whoever loveth a lie? Also does anyone know of any good websites on Heaven? Thank you so much for your help. ---------- winningside (Marie)
7 | Seven (7) Feasts | Not Specified | winningside | 176060
Could someone please help me to understand the 7 feast in Leviticus. I read an article this morning which states that "The seven feasts found in Leviticus 23 give us a divine blueprint for the future of the world." It also says that the feasts are a glimpse of the future and a shadow of the glorious things to come. Can someone please explain this to me in more detail. Thank you in advance for your help and time. --------- winningside

10 | Difference backsliden or not saved? | 2 Cor 13:5 | winningside | 173518
Hi John, I am not sure why you are asking this question? "Could you explain to me how a person can have two hearts? One being a God given heart of flesh and the other a heart of unbelief?" Every word that I used to reply to that message was scripture only. But I can say that people can choose to turn away from God, it has nothing to do with having two hearts. It is one heart and one mind making two different choices. Have a Blessed Day!! winningside |

11 | Difference backsliden or not saved? | 2 Cor 13:5 | winningside | 173347
A christian can turn away from God and serve him no more. Here are some New Testament for you. Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 10:38,39 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. 2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. Revelation 2:4-5 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Have a Blessed Day, winningside |

12 | Holy Spirit -Joy, Laughter, Tears? | 1 Cor 12:31 | winningside | 171736
Dear Seacher56, I would like to tell you my story of tears, laughter and joy. I sat in a pentecostal church for 12 years and still could not understand all that myself. I could not understand how all this could be going on around me, but seemed to be something that I personally could not have. I did not understand. One night I was on my way to church and I was praying to God because I was a little down that night and just wanted to tell God about it. I got to church and just sat there quietly waiting for church to begin. The preacher walked up to the pulpit and before he said a word, something just hit me. Something I never felt before and could not fully explain but I wanted to jump up and run, but I sat there holding onto my chair. I felt like I was going to explode. After church was over I left and rode down the rode laughing, crying and absolutely filled with joy. I would laugh awhile, cry awhie, then laugh and cry at the same time and this went on for a couple hours. I knew it was the Holy Ghost. The comforter that God promised me in his word. Finally after all those years of wondering and waiting, it was my turn. God saw my heart. He knew I needed him. And it felt like he just filled me with pure love. Before that night, I could never say that "God loved me". I just could not get those words to come out of my mouth because I didn't believe that he did because I was not good enough. In Romans 15:13 it says - Now the God of hope fill you with ALL JOY and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. I do not know why it took me so many years, but I can tell you that, after that night my life was changed. That was about 4 years ago and I am learning that the Holy Ghost is love, joy, laughter and tears. He is also my comfort and my peace. Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. When you love someone you do laugh with them, cry with them and feel joy when they are happy. That's what love does. May the Holy Ghost fill us all until we are overflowing! May God Bless you winningside |

13 | Hell/Lake of Fire | Rev 20:14 | winningside | 171729
Sorry, I must have worded my question wrong. What I am asking is: Some people say that Hell is a place burning with fire, others say it is the grave. If it is a place burning with fire and people are there now, why would God take you out of the fire of Hell to throw you in the "Lake of Fire" in Revelation 20:14. Thank you -winningside

In Revelation 20:14 It says "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. I can not understand this in my mind somehow. If hell is a place of burning fire and people are already there, why would God then put them in the lake of fire or am I just missing something here? I am not trying to question God. I am questioning my own way of thinking. Thanks - winningside

20 | Power on her head because of angels? | Not Specified | winningside | 165690
Does anyone know why 1 cor 11:10 says "For this cause ought a woman to have "power on her head" because of the angels. How do we have power on our heads and why because of the angels? I did a search in this forum and found an anwser below that I copied and pasted, but that is from 2001 and we have new people on the forum now who might provide a different answer or can explain it to me better? Thanks . "11:10. *because of the angels.* The insubordination of an uncovered woman (signifying her refusal to recognize the authority of her husband) would offend the angels who observe the conduct of believers in their church gatherings (1 Pet 1:12)" (Ryrie Study Bible, Moody, 1976, 1978). |
