1 | Do we accept? | John 1:1 | wings_on_fire | 229988
Was trying to share the thoughts i had as i was looking into this. i have a few examples of what i did with His word as i would read it. That i would just change it to fit my belief. 1Sam.2 2 There is none as holy as the Lord, For there is none besides You. And there is no rock like our God. Deut.32 39 See now that it is I! I am the One, and there is no god like Me! I cause death and grant life. I strike, but I heal, and no one can rescue from My Hand! Deut.4 35 You have been shown, in order to know that the Lord He is God, there is none else besides Him. 1 Chron.17 21 And who is like Your people Israel, one nation in the world, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make You a name of great and fearful things, to drive nations from before Your people, whom You redeemed from Egypt. (Boy! Can these guys ever get it right in the word of God? Now i have to just try to change the word of God and what it says to make it fit my belief. i have to go through another verse and change Himself in the singular to Us? Then i have to go fix this You, change this to You guys maybe? Ok then the last You we ll make They maybe? Just follow that belief with the other 2 places that you a singular and change them to all us gods? How about Jesus, well maybe we can just think that?) 1 Chron.17 20 O Lord, there is none like You, and there is no god besides You according to all that we have heard with our ears. (So this person states what God has repeatedly said unto us, saying that this is according to all they heard with their ears from Him?)One i have wrestled with to have peace within. i didnt have that with alot of His word before. i always had questions, things i wasnt sure of on my belief, if it was right and agreed with the whole council of His word. This helped alot, that all, and thanks for the reply, Dave |

2 | Do we accept? | John 1:1 | wings_on_fire | 229987
He does tell us who He is and makes it plain is what i have seen. That any thought i may have can not question it when He makes it so clear? This is a example of what He says to a lifelong belief i held to my whole life, i had never seen or been told before. The belief, that Jesus was the Creator, that he was the one who made all things. i believed this to be true with everything within me. Then i see the Lord say,Isa.43 11 and understand that I am He, before Me no god was formed and after Me none shall be. (Why He says of Himself I am 1st and last, and there would be none after Me?) Isa.44 6 So said the Lord, the King of Israel and his(the prophet or David His appointed king?) Redeemer the Lord of Hosts, I am first and I am last, and besides Me there is no God. (As i ask myself but youre 3? As i continue to refuse what He states of Himself?) Isa.44 24 So said the Lord, your Redeemer, and the One Who formed you from the womb, I am the Lord Who makes everything, Who stretched forth the heavens alone, Who spread out the earth from My power. (Oh boy! Now He's claiming that what i have been taught isn't right? My belief as everyone i know claims as the only truth, that Jesus did this thing, my Lord says He did this thing alone? So can i continue to make this claim, knowing the Lord made this claim Himself?) Isa.45 18 For so said the Lord, the Creator of heaven, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, He established it. He did not create it for a waste, He formed it to be inhabited, I am the Lord and there is no other. (One thing of this proof verse of creation i have heard used, is that no one ever mentions the end of this verse, or what He says once again and what He says here as well? That He is the Lord and there is no other?) Neh.9 6 You alone are the Lord, You made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens and all their host, the earth and all that is upon it, the seas and all that is in them, and You give life to them all, and the heavenly host bow down before You. What He says about Himself here, or not? |

What i have seen that the Lord our God, says of Himself. i wondered why when you share this it is so often refused or called false? It relates to what Jesus and the scribe discussed in Mark 12.28 to 34 What i saw in the Jewish scriptures. Isa.40 18 And to whom do you compare God, and what likeness do you arrange for Him? (He asks all of us?) Isa.40 25 Now, to whom will you compare Me that I should be equal? says the Holy One.(He asks who may be equal to Him? As well as each and every one of these verses uses a singular, when He speaks of Himself? He asks each one of us again, a question?) Isa.46 5 To whom shall you liken Me and make Me equal and compare Me that we may be alike?(3nd time He asks us this?) Isa.46 9 Remember the first things of old, that I am God and there is no other. I am God and there is none like Me.. (Ok, so He tells us, to remember what He told us from the start, His same desire to make what He says of Himself known to all? As well as there is no other, that He is God and there is none like Me?) He answers these questions many times in His word, over and over. So what am i, are we to do with these things? Change them to fit our belief, or accept them? That has been a question ive asked myself alot lately, after seeing what He says of Himself. im not real sure what to do what was given, but i think i must accept what He says? T or F? |

5 | One that i had no inner peace on | Mark 12:28 | wings_on_fire | 229979
i shared some scripture that i have always thought were very important. Some that describe what i have always hoped to see. That we should have unity in His teachings and all of us be in agreement on it. Thats why i mentioned the ones i spent a little over a year on, looking into the teachings people told me i had to believe, or i was lost and going to eternal damnation if i didnt. i went through the NT 4 times completely, to see what all was said, on Law or not. Was Jesus God or not. Looking into what people shared, and what His word said on it. From this i saw that i didnt have peace within me on what was true, what was right. i was always questioning my understanding, and i sure didnt have peace within me on many things, questions. My understanding of the OT, was very small. The best i did was look at what was refered to in the NT. That was my extent of knowledge of the OT scriptures. So the last 8mos or so, that has been my focus. That has helped the most. To clear up my questions, and i have peace within on what He has to say from His word, that the OT has shown me. It sure hasnt brought peace with people i talk with on His word. With my accepting what He says about Himself in His word, i am able to accept that He is one. While people tell me, what i have been given, a new belief in His oneness, is false, not true, and condemnation comes alot more than it did, as i sought His peace in my study of all the beliefs people shared with me. As i was doing my NT studies, everytime i shared what i saw in it, i was labeled a Judite, a lawkeeper, a JW, many others. No matter which way i went, i was wrong, lol. So today, with what He brought with the idea to look into what He says of Himself in His word, the OT alone this time. i have seen many things i had questions on from my NT studies, that i questioned, His word answered very clearly. It leaves me without fear of what people tell me, or condemn me to, because i have one who judges me. The judgements of people i no longer fear n i thank Him for being set free of the worry n having His peace upon you that it is within you is so awesome, i thank Father for Your blessing on that. Just not sure if i will ever find that peace with people, that His teachings tell us to have?
6 | One that i had no inner peace on | Mark 12:28 | wings_on_fire | 229977
Well ty for the welcome and the 1st response i have gotten on this question, other than the one of it not being able to be understood, from one person. Generally when i have asked what this verse means to people, that question is just ignored. So, i thank you for your time and response on this. From my understanding of what he quoted in Mark, that it is a statement of our belief and something we state with our profession of this prayer as well as accepting it is the greatest and most important of all the commandments of the Lord? The next thought that came right now was the ones about having agreement and of being of one mind in all things? Like in Phil.2 2, 1 Peter 3 8 and 9, and Eph.4 2 to 6? One i always hoped i would see in study, but something surely not seen? i have been blessed with time to study, something i start with each day. i love what He brings in a day. Good point on knowing How we have to know how scripture comes together to complete His teachings and thanks for reminding us of the importance of that. May your day be blessed with His guiding hand and may His love upon you, always, Dave

Mark 12 (New American Standard Bible) 28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the [q]foremost of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; 30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’ 31 The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 The scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that HE IS ONE, AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BESIDES HIM; 33 AND TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THE HEART AND WITH ALL THE UNDERSTANDING AND WITH ALL THE STRENGTH, AND TO LOVE ONE’S NEIGHBOR AS HIMSELF, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” After that, no one would venture to ask Him any more questions. This is one i have asked people about? So far i have been told, it can't be understood? So i cant just read this as any child could and understand it as any child could easily do? What i see here is Jesus telling the scribe the common Jewish answer given to this question each time. i see him telling what the 2 greatest commandments are, with the 1st being the Shema from Deut.6? They both agree to the meaning of our greatest commandment? It is in agreement with what the Lord says about Himself throughout the Jewish scriptures? When i have said what i see here, people say im a false teacher for saying the greatest commandment should be the 1st thing out of our mouth, when we declare His truths and what our profession should be on this? i just wondered what people see on this here on the forum? Thanks much, Dave |
