May I join in - I feel that its like this: Antichrist/one world govt takes increasing control of earth Antichrist set up as god on temple grounds(Dan9:27/2Thess 2:4/Matt24:15) Antichrist rules for 3 1/2 years(Dan9:27/Dan7:24,25/Rev13:5-10) Christians persecuted over this period Jews have peace over this period (Rev 12:13-17 Ezek 38:8) Increasing tribulations Jewish revival as they recognise true Messiah Gog- land to far north of Israel suddenly attacks (Ezekiel 38,39 Daniel 11:44 Joel 2:20) Antichrist -leader of Israel fights back Gog enters Jerusalem incurring God's wrath God destroys both the antichrist and the enemies of Jerusalem on the "day of the Lord" There is a great earthquake This is the First Resurrection (Rev 20:5)of the believers. The 1000 year reign follows this |

Yes, I prefer the decree of Artaxerexes (refer Ezra)which was delivered to the Administrators of Palestine region Sep/Oct 458bc. 69 sevens later(483 years) in Sep/Oct 26AD Jesus was baptised and began his ministry - confirming the covenant of a Messiah to come. 3 1/2 years later, March/April 30AD Jesus is crucified putting an end to all God acceptable sacrifices for sin. | ||||||

I agree that the first half of Dan 9:27 is fulfilled historically by the first coming of Christ as He confirms a covenant and ends all acceptable sacrifice for sin. However the seventy sevens cannot be complete because that would mean an end to sin in Jerusalem(ref Dan 9:24) and on earth and this has'nt happened yet. | ||||||

Why did the translators of the NASB and Amplified versions choose to separate the identity of the one who confirms the seven year covenant to the one who sets up the abomination? The NIV and the King James indicate that one person does both. | ||||||
