8 | Earth was without form, and void. | Gen 1:1 | vkey | 20304

9 | Earth was without form, and void. | Gen 1:1 | vkey | 19984
I agree with you. In my NIV, Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 go on like this: In the begining, God created the heaven and the earth. Now, the earth was(*) formless and empty. the footnote for was is given as "possibly became". also, when you come to the 2nd verse, it begins with the word "now" after God created heaven and earth. it so probably became void at that particular time. it doesnt make any scriptural sense that God would create something formless and empty. Another important thing i would like to quote is when i was watching TV, i saw Benny Hinn quoting a verse from Jeremiah as when God created man, He commanded him to replenish the earth.(which means refill) which can only mean there was life previously too. unfortunately i dont remeber which verse. so if anyone can find it, it will be very useful. regs, Vkey |

10 | Was Jesus Christ, Son of God from start? | Not Specified | vkey | 18444
was Jesus the Son of God from the very begining? "for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son" with reference to the given verse, the word "begotten" means to give rise to or to bring about or to give birth to. Since Jesus has no beginings and cannot be brought about or given rise to as He is there forever, this verse only means the Jesus "born on earth". if you read the verse in Lu 1:35 in which the angel says to Mary, "the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you and so the Holy One born to you shall be called the Son of God". So Jesus was called the Son of God only after He was born of the Holy Spirit of God. until that time He was always having fellowship with God from the begining. Even in Hebrews 1:5, the author quotes the verse, "You are my Son, Today I have become your Father". So Jesus became the Son and God became the father only after He was born, but He was always there with Him even before His birth. what do you think? vkey |

16 | indwelling holy spirit | OT general | vkey | 15221
yes, i indeed agree with Nolan, that every born again Christian has the Holy Spirit in him. in 1 Corinthian, Paul says "No one can say Jesus is the Lord except by the Holy Spirit". so, you can know fir sure that every believer who confesses with his mouth and believes in his heart that Jesus is the Lord has the Holy Spirit living in him. |

17 | Are women allowed to teach/preach? | 1 Tim 2:14 | vkey | 15001
i agree to an extent of what you've said. it does make sense too. since we see a lot of women preaching in the Holy Spirit. But again, Paul in 1 Corinthians says that it is a disgrace for women to ecven speak in the Church and that if they have any doubts they should ask their husbands at home. why again? vkey |

18 | exactly how was jesus crusified | John 20:25 | vkey | 14809
hi Christine! if you read John, during the crucifixion, the guards came to break the legs of the crucified victims(probably to hasten their death). but when they came to Jesus and finding he was already dead, they just pierced his side, where blood and water flowed(water refers to the Holy Spirit). traditionally, crucifixion, means hanging the person on a cross with their hands nailed to the wood. this was prevalent in the Roman days. Again after Jesus rises from the dead, he appears to Thomas and says "put your fingers in my nail marks in the hand and feel my side". from this we know the Jesus was nailed in the cross and pierced in the side as well. it was also prophesied in the Old Testament days by the prophet "they looked upon the one they pierced" (i'm not sure which chapter and verse). you can ind all these in the Gospel of John starting from the crucifixion. i hope you know more about our brother and Lord Jesus Christ. vkey |

19 | What does God say in Hebrews 13:4? | Rom 8:38 | vkey | 14689
You have rightly quoted. There were strict punishments in the OT days for people who committed adultery or indulged in fornication(pre marital sex). Again Jesus says, "if you look at a woman lustfully , you have already committed adultery with her in our heart". So what Jesus said is wrong, then you can be sure its wrong. So sex before marriage is a sin and it should only be between one's wife and not his/her fiance. Amen. |

20 | Perhaps we found God's purpose in life | Deut 29:29 | vkey | 14202
hi Pent! from what i have come to understand, God did not create the universe and all of us because he ws feeling lonely or he wanted someone to love Him. all of his creations until man, showed His power and wisdom. but to show His everlasting love, He created man. so it was not he created man so that man could love him but so the He can love man and to show the extent he'll go to love him by sacrificing His only begotten Son. this may be only half true but as the above verse Deuteronomy says "the secret things belong to the Lord our God", so only He knows the full reason. |
