1 | What fruit did Eve eat from the tree? | Gen 3:1 | tugrad98 | 10960
it doesn't all it says "fruit of the tree.." Gen 3. Maybe you can do a historical word search on what the original word (hebrew)for "fruit" is vs. apple. Maybe they are the same. Thus would answer your question.
2 | Were All Scattered? | Acts 8:1 | tugrad98 | 10956
The leaders of the 1st century church were the apostles (including Paul-the 13th apostle). But to further the gospel being preached they appointed 7 men to help in the ministries needs (Acts 6) to the apostles could focus on the mission. According to 8:1 it doesn't really said where the apostles scattered to. Philip did go to Samaria though. In Acts 9:32 Peter was traveling about the country (in Lydda). So the apostles did scatter too (to escape Saul). But it doesn't give a detailed account as to where they went exactly. Of the apostles you read most about in the Acts (Philip, Peter, and Paul) you will see that they constantly traveled to preach the word. But wherever they scattered due to persecution they still preached the word. Often enough the apostles would hear of plots against them and leave. Or have other disciples protect them. Often angels of God would protect them. God needed these men to advance his Kingdom. As far as I know, the Bible doesn't say who the leaders of the churches were (Antioch, Phillippi, Corinth, Thessolonia, etc.). All you read about is that the apostles would go there (Paul wrote letters) to encourage and strenghthen the faith of the disciples there. |

3 | Ananias and Sapphira Had No Chance? | Acts 5:9 | tugrad98 | 10950
Steve: If you read Acts 4:32. It says that ALL the believers were one in heart and mind. That no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. If you look at the heart of the disciples that they sold their homes and gave it to the apostles to distribute to those who were in need. If you continue to read in chapter 5. It exposes the HEART of Ananias and Sapphira. They had LIED to God. They allowed Satan to fill their hearts, they were no longer one in mind and heart with the rest of the body. There are other examples throughout the entire Bible where God destroyed nations (those who opposed and oppressed the Isrealites), people (those who lost heart and no longer followed God...ie the Kings of the OT), GENERATIONS of people (the Flood), cities (Sodom and Gomorrah) because of their SINS. In the same way this couple was destroyed because of their SIN. In a few words or less this couple served as an example that God cannot be mocked, cheated nor lied to. And they were given a chance to repent...they were questioned. Sapphira was asked if that was the price they received for the land....she chose to continue in her lie. I hope this helps. |
