But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

It sure would be “nice plus helpful” if everyone posting to the forum would take a minute and fill out the section provided for them using the Update User Info. It’s found under Resources section on the lower left side of the home page.

It’s always easer to communicate with a person when one knows something about the one they are posting with; knowing that they aren’t trying to hide behind some sort of a deep dark cloak or some strange agenda.
Luke 11:33
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

4 picture of Christ? Not Specified stjohn 186614
Could the tree of life be a picture of Christ?

Gen 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"--

John 6:51 "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh."

John 6:55 "For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
John 6:56 "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
John 6:57 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.
John 6:58 "This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever."

  Dear Cheri.

I hope you will reconsider, there is much that you can learn here at SBF and your presence here is welcome. As to the petition? Well, why don't you just post the link, and let the Holy Spirit do the rest, Instead of funneling everyone through your personal email? I am sure that no-one minds you posting something as important as this issue is, but, please remember that SBF is not a social club or chat-room; directing everyone through your email may not be the best way to get information to people.

God bless

15 Who are the Nicolaitanes? Bible general Archive 4 stjohn 195235
  Hi Mickael,

The church at Ephesus (Revelation 2:6) is commended for hating the "deeds" of the Nicolaitanes, and the church of Pergamos is blamed for having them who hold their "doctrines" (15). They were seemingly a class of professing Christians, who sought to introduce into the church a false freedom or licentiousness, thus abusing Paul's doctrine of grace (comp. 2 Peter 2:15, 16, 19), and were probably identical with those who held the doctrine of Baalam.

Modesty is something that pertains to our physicality, not spirituality. Is this a term that you have heard somewhere? if so can you please give us some context?

17 covering heaven with a cloud? Bible general Archive 4 stjohn 195462
  Hello yonder....

Thank you for your advice.

By the way sir, your comments about my character and Bible study practices are quite presumptuous, and, incorrect. If I were you, I'd be very careful calling myself a prophet! No harm intended, just pointing out the facts.

Respectfully.

God bless

18 Ecclesiastes, Matthew, NOW WHAT? Bible general Archive 4 stjohn 195770
  Dear Bebop,

Welcome.

We cannot know for sure which Book is best for you to read first, but you say that you are happy so far, and I thank God that he is blessing you. After you have read Matthew though, you may want to simply go to Genesis and switch back and forth from the OT to the NT, it's a good way to see how the Bible (God's Word) gives us the big picture of God's message to us. Ask God to give you the wisdom of understanding, but don't expect to understand it all, Just hold tightly to what He does give you, like the precious gift that it is. May God bless you in your studies and open your eyes to the truth of His Holy Word. I hope there are others that also give you some advice on how to study the Bible.

God bless
John
