" That my friend is not an immature Christian that is being in rebellion. "...okay i'm with you now, although is not rebellion in the context of mature and immature a certain sign of immaturity? and since we christians are in so many different states of maturity can a rebellious saint simply be an immature saint? and if so would that be the reason for the the debate?..you asked " How does Rahab's eternal dwelling place effect where you are going to dwell?...in the context of svaed always?? i wanted to point out that i think rahab was saved despite her occupation...you asked further"or where I am going to dwell?" only for the purpose of the raqhab example...you asked" or the millions of people before and after her as to where they are going to dwell? " i guess i stand on the side of once saved always saved unless you purposely renounce Christ...you asked rehtorically" can I kill someone and still be saved, can I commit adultery and still have salvation."...david did both...paul did one...one of the disciples took and ear by violence. are they not saved? |

"Unless you are actively involved in sin or plan to be, the answer should hold no interest to you."....i'm not sure i understand that statement...since we all have sinned and continue to sin and fall short of the glory of God, how can you make that statement?...all of us sin everyday, except of course those of us on this forum(sarcasm)...from your position it sounds like you feel if a person is actively involved in sin:ie pornography, fornication etc.. then that person is different from the person who doesn't do those things BUT,that person maybe doesn't tithe or show goodness or kindness, gentleness is evident to none, doesn't do what he/she ought to do...based on your position it (and i'm assuming)seems the latter doesn't count as "sin"...is that correct?...you said "Why do you want to act like a child with God, saying, "if I do this will you forgive me?"...because some of us are more mature than others, some stronger than others...and we know the strong shall bear the infirmites of the weak... and on the issue of sin james reminds us in 4:17 "anyone, then, who knows the good he outght to do and doesn't do it, sins...passed by any homeless people and didn't help, saw a tv addd for christian childrens fund and didn't send a couple of bucks, knew a friend or family member in need and didn't help...not part of any church ministries...and i could go on...i leave with this question where is rahab(the prostitute) going heaven or hell? |

4 | who wrote the Bible? | 2 Tim 3:16 | stew | 16719 | ||
jim's answer is cool but having been a "jarhead" myself i think leroy needs a "simplified" answer. "They always say a man wrote the bible."..not true ! there were over 40 men who were inspired to write. http://netministries.org/bbasics/bbasics.html..this website is great for breaking down the bible...but basically over 40 different writers over 1500 years on 3 different continents using 3 different languages(hebrew, aramaic, and greek) wrote what has now become our bible...remember in old testament times the sacred scrolls that kept the scriptures were not in the same order that we have today, you even see refrences to other books of hebrew history in kings and chronicles...Jesus refered to the "old testament" quite often...the new testament and The word 'testament' literally means 'something that serves as proof' or 'a personal witness either verbally or written'. the new testament is a series of letters or epistles and of course the gospels and the historical book of acts and the prophectic revelation.. i think the simple answer after you hit'em with the facts is...my fellow marine the bible took over 1500 years to write i can't give you a fifteen second explanation. however if you'd like know more follow me as i dig deeper...or you can just dig deeper and then hit'em with it:-) in Christ kyle |
