1 | Can ANYONE believe? | Acts 10:34 | steved | 125166
This passage is telling us that God does not just save the Jew (as all the Jews had believed up until this time - that they were the choosen of God and no one else would be saved) but the Gentile as well. God is not partial to one race or another, but saves a people from all races
2 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | Hebrews | steved | 42089
It seems these verses, Hebrews 6:4-6 (NASB), can best be explained by way of the covenant. We are are united to God in covenant by baptism (6:4 - enlightened). God deals with us in covenant, not as such individuals but as a body of believers, the church. We regularly take the Lord's Supper (tasted of the heavenly gift) and participate in weekly worship (partakers of the Holy Spirit, tasted the good word of God). To leave the church and turn from God (fallen away). We all believe that once we are saved we cannot loose our salvation. So this must be talking of the 'wicked among the righteous'(Matt 13:47-50), the people who are in the church but not really christian. |

I was reading through postings and came across this "God is an invisible force". I do not know if you meant it as it sounded or not, but thought I would comment. God is a Spirit, one God, three persons. God the Father and God the Son are located in heaven (Heb 1:3, Mark 16:19) while the Holy Spirit is everywhere (Ps 139:7-12). In His Love |

5 | Does God know how many will be saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | steved | 4922
Ephesians 1:4-5 tells us that God chose us before the foundation of the world. God therefore has a set number that is predestined to believe. John 10:11 The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. This teaches limited atonement to me. Steved |

6 | Are there degrees of punishment in hell? | Luke 12:47 | steved | 4139
I think you have answered your own question with the verses you have listed. Pastor A.N. Martin has an excelent series of sermons on hell, with one entitled 'Degrees of Punishment'; I think it is #4 in the series. You can go to their website http://www.tbcnj.org/ and get a catalog. (the book service link; you may find it on line, I do not know. I hope this helps. SteveD |
