To everyone who has responded, thank you very much for your time. I don't have any Christian friends, so a few answers in the deeper parts of the bible are hard to find. |

2 | Modern Leviticus | Leviticus | sstearley | 238708
So, if I'm reading this correctly, (and I might not be :-P) Jesus was sent here (partially) to help guide men away from the sillyness of the laws that were in place at the time; to let them know that loving God with all of your heart mind and spirit was more important than the laws themselves? What does that mean in modern terms? Obviously wearing cloth made of two different threads is something we all do, and back then was considered a sin. Is part of the reason Jesus died for us to alleviate the punishments of eternal sin from those actions that would be considered a violation of any one of those laws? |

3 | release from Leviticus | Not Specified | sstearley | 238696
Hello, I'm not a Christian, but I'm very curious about the smaller details of organized religion. Recently a friend told me that Jesus died on the cross so that we would be released from our sins, and the (clearly pretty nutsy) laws in Leviticus. (like the shellfish one, selling your wife, etc.) I was just wondering if that's correct? Thank you! |
