1 | Sincere love of others? | 1 Pet 1:22 | sonlight | 113955
(1Pe 1:22 KJV) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Sincere or unfeigned love is restricted in its flow from God through us by the relational "walls" we establish between us and others. These come from past or present betrayals, rejections ect. (real or percieved). By "obeying the truth", forgiveness, a gift given from the heart (not the mind only)[Mat 18:35] purifies the soul (mind, will and emotions) bringing increase to ones ability to love. (1Jo 2:9 KJV) He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. Forgiveness places us in light where God's love flows. [sonlight] |

1Pe 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, Joh 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. (NAS95) It would seem that we all have a long way to go to be perfected in unity and sincere or unfeined love one for another. Can this stop now? sonlight |

justme: Just like before you are unaware of the facts. Kenneth Hagin devoted many years in traveling ministry primarily with denominational or orthodox groups. Considering this was always with invitation by ministers to there own flock, careful attention would be given to the quality of this ministry. Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.(NASB) If Jesus says He will live in us, why does it seem presumtious to believe that He would not come with any minister "on stage". I would hope that any minister of the gospel would be able to say the same. You seem somewhat devoted to dishonoring WOF ministers, have you also compared the fruit of their ministry with your own in light of lives influenced for eternity. If they are doing things different than you, but are still bringing increase to Gods kingdom do they not have some value? If any ministry has less than 100 percent success is there not room for another to help? Where one may be weak in an area, another may be strong. Where one may have been given a gift or grace to minister life to a people group, another may be less successful with that group but be very fruitful with another. Can we not be thankful that God is willing to raise up and gift ministers, individually equipped to help each of us where we are even with our differences. sonlight |

justme, Lu 6:44 "For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. (NAS95) Considering the fruit is New Testament counsel from Jesus. The booklet mentioned I have read and found it to be very helpful and also does not contain material that is bias toward "word faith" and biblically sound. In the many years that I have observed Kenneth Hagins Ministry I have never seen or heard of him publicly putting another ministry down or defending himself when criticized. The bible mandate is to love one another, and in fact that is how we are to be known by those seeking truth. Joh 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Love invests into others while not seeking its own. 1 Cor 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, I was aware of the date of this listing and if the email address has changed then no harm was done, however the potential for good was high. Blessings in return justme. sonlight |

8 | RoS, What do we do with the OT (Law)? | Bible general Archive 2 | sonlight | 107399
Deut 28 discribes various blessings (empowered to succeed)or curses (empowered to fail) that would come on the nation based on how they kept covenant. 1 Cor 12:28-34 discribes what the curse looks like in NT. Grace will keep us above the effects of law if we walk in love towards others. Failure to this, like not forgiveing someone, refusal to deal with selfish ways (love invests, selfishness takes),gossip, ect. causes us to be subject to the effects of law (sowing and reaping). Salvation places us in Gods family and is rather secure, however Heb 12:8-15 instructs us to cooperate with the subject of discipline (mostly the discipline like an athlete does to prepare). Jesus met the requirements of law on our behalf (if we recieve it ), however individual behavior can cause us to be subject to law again. Gal 3:24 tells us that law is like a tutor ( teaches a lesson), Gal 4:1-11 shows us that christians can be subject to bondage if our behavior is childish. We do not have to keep the OT law but reading to learn from those who ran before (1 Cor 10:11) instructs us in our race.

Searcher, In Mark 4:14 Jesus reveals that words are seeds, verse :13 tells us that an understanding of this is helpful in understanding other parables. Gal 6:7,8 tells us that "whatever" a man (or woman) sows he will reap (seedtime and harvest). Sowing to the flesh reaps corruption (v:8)is something other than nature that is viewed with natural eyes. 1 Cor 9:6 informs us that money is also considered by God as seed that can be sown on earth and reaped with increase (v:7 examines the motive of the heart in this but the law of seedtime and harvest is present). Luke 6:38 in the light of verses :27-:37 speaks alot about giveing love and harvest of the same with increase. Matt 7:12 Therefore, however you want people to treat you,so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets (law being something that works the same way all the time),again seedtime and harvest. Genesis is not real clear when the laws of reciprocity, relativity, ect. were established on earth, however Gen 1:11 is the first recording of the earth reproduceing after its own kind. sonlight

OT written law was a gift given to Isreal that by "doing" they would not run afoul of the laws of sowing and reaping with increase found in Gen 1:11. All seeds must reproduce after there own kind, and since the fall of Adam we now have the ability to handle, sow and reap from seeds that have destructive consequences. Jesus fulfilled the requirements of law that required us to reap the harvest that is due for things done, harboured in heart or said (if we ask with a repentant heart). Jesus recieves the harmfull harvest and we recieve the good. OT law can now be a guide to help us to not sow seeds of harmfull content which is the whole point of repentance. Other parts of the law are a shadow of the type that is revealed in the NT.
