1 | Can a woman be a Pastor | Not Specified | sept14child | 76992
According to 1 Tim 2:12 A woman is not to teach or exercise authority (spiritual) over a man, and if she was a pastor then she would be usurping that position of the covering of leadership that a man has over her. So how can a woman be a pastor and be an authoritive figure over a man. Man was created first, then woman. Is he not head over her?

8 | New Testament TITHING ? | Bible general Archive 1 | sept14child | 74997
I totally agree with you that this giving of tithes was under the Levitical law for the Jews. I find no where in the NT that we are bound to that law of giving 10 percent. We are under the law of sowing and reaping though. Look in 2Cor 9:6-10 In this passage of scripture it is speaking of a heart condition in giving. What God says to us in the manner of our giving unto Him. Out of a heart that is not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Look at the results of giving with that kind of heart attitude. He is able to make all grace abound to you, that having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. In v.10 (my favorite) (the purpose in giving, is that), He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
9 | wife submitting to ungodly husband | 1 Pet 3:1 | sept14child | 74995
I believe in 1 Pet 3:1 it speaks of what your conduct is to be towards your husband. It is by the behavior of their wives that they may be won. It speaks of doing this without a word. In v.2 as they observe (watching) your chaste and respectful behavior. So there are key words in there that describe how the wives are to behavior towards their husbands, whether they are saved or not.
10 | Did John know Jesus before His baptizm ? | John 1:29 | sept14child | 74987
John 1:29-34 As I read this portion of scripture, I am confused with John's statement of first stating that he saw Jesus coming and declaring that He is the Lamb of God, but then in v.31 John says he didn't reconize him. How then did John know it was Jesus who is the Son of God, but then didn't reconize Him. What does he mean by that? |
