1 | Rev. 18:9-19 sounds like WTC? | Rev 18:9 | scroggs | 17468
All 7 buildings of the WTC collapsed, but I'm not sure this is what was meant by 7 hills. I realize that plenty of well-meaning people have misinterpreted Scripture, so much so that I have avoided eschatology, but I saw something on the screen that said' there is something more than the physical causes for the collapse in ONE HOUR. Accidently, I came across Rev. 18 and ONE HOUR jumped out again. Now Mt. 12: 42 and Nahum and Zechariah are all beginning to make sense. Anyway whether this is just a personal revelation of something I need from Scripture or not, time will tell. |

I appreciate your thoughtful answer. We don't yet know the end of the events which began on Sept. 11. Will wait and see, watch and pray, and not forget the urgency to reach the unsaved that I feel. I agree about the ethnocentricity or egocentricity of Americans, however our influence on the world is very large due to the times we live in--electronic media has spread our culture around the world. Ask expatriates overseas, who will probably say that the term "Americanization" is used to describe any social problem or decadence of any cause. Partly, I base my opinions on the belief that we are the generation living in the last days, do you think so, too? |

3 | Rev. 18:9-19 sounds like WTC? | Rev 18:9 | scroggs | 17464
I think Rev. 17 does fit. True, if NYC is Babylon it is not yet destroyed, but it could be that the events of Sept. 11 are the precipitating factors in a decline. As for the blood of the saints Mat.12:41 makes it sound as if saints are standing around the throne saying, "Look at those sinners, worse than we ever were." [Yes, I know the saints were saved from Ninevah, not Babylon, and "this generation" probably refers to the first century. However, many prophecies have their fulfillment at the time, during the coming of Christ, and also during the second coming. The Lord seems to be helping me understand the books by the minor prophets, which I have always ignored before. Time will tell. It doesn't influence anything but our sense of urgency for the unsaved.

Yes, I am wanting to discuss this parallel with someone. The one answer I received to my question, which was similar to yours, felt like a brush-off to me. I think we have just seen this prophecty fulfilled, maybe others have thought so in the past and have been wrong, but nevertheless one of these days it will come true. Babylon cannot be the ancient city of Babylon in Iraq because Isaiah 13:20 says that the original Babylon will NEVER be inhabited again. It had alreadyt been destroyed when John saw his REVELATION . I had the thought seeing the WTC destroyed IN AN HOUR, before I read over Rev. 17-Rev.18-20. It seems as if there will be another event in Rev. 18:21 to flood the place. Remember the hole in the Chicago River, ABC reported STC's architects being concerned about the retaining wall of the Hudson River and the land fill area to the west of the WTC. I would like to talk about this with you. |
