1 | why is baptism important | 2 Cor 5:17 | sbbqb7n16 | 100731
As the king is still lord over the land even if you don't obey his edict, so is Jesus Christ over all Creation... even if you don't obey His edict. The only thing is that it is a huge semantics thing wherein if you are not obeying the king, he is not technically your king, because you follow your own orders and are therefore king of yourself. When you decide to obey that king's edict, you "make" (for lack of a better word) that person king over you. Same thing with Christ. When you choose to stop tending to your flesh, but rather be obedient to Christ, you "make" (for lack of a better word) Christ Lord over your life. Hope I made my thought clear enough. Does this help any? |

3 | Very Literal Translation Anyone? | Jer 33:3 | sbbqb7n16 | 98474
Kind of helps... but I have an actual Hebrew Bible... I just find that some of the words I don't know what they mean lol. So I was hoping to have a VERY literal... like "you call", "unto (me)", "and I will ____" and so forth... taking Hebrew word for word and giving an direct translation. And if it's "blocky" that's okay... like "a man a good" is fine for "a good man." or "'at the head of' 'He created' 'Elohim' 'with' 'the heavens' 'and the earth'" over "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Do you kinda see what I'm looking for? lol I know it's kinda wierd, but still.... |

5 | Only intent | John 17:1 | sbbqb7n16 | 84593
My original question was concerned with why Jesus was using 3rd person in this part but not in the rest....
6 | Only intent | John 17:1 | sbbqb7n16 | 84521
So it was Jesus' intent at the moment of prayer to only say it that way for future use in the Bible?
7 | Why 3rd person? | John 17:1 | sbbqb7n16 | 84517
Why does Jesus speak in third person at first then change His voice to 1st prson a couple verses later?
8 | faith without actions a fool? James 2:20 | James | sbbqb7n16 | 55392
James is pretty much defining what kind of faith was needed. He wasn't discrediting faith altogether but saying that saving faith is more faith than "I believe" faith. Saving faith is so much faith that it produces works.
9 | Shows only one Lord. | Ps 93:1 | sbbqb7n16 | 55376
It wasn't a question it was a note....
10 | Shows only one Lord. | Ps 93:1 | sbbqb7n16 | 54370
Note the word "The." Now I know it's not a big word, but it does eliminate all other possibility of there being another Lord. "The Lord" not "a Lord."
