1 | Why would they kill Cain? | Gen 9:6 | royfish316 | 199384
FIRSTLY, When God encountered Cain with the question, 'Where is Abel thy brother?' he had the opportunity to confess and repent. But Cain lied instead, and when given the punishment he again had the chance to take responsibility for his actions. He does not change or repent from his sins, but accuses God of being too harsh, being unmerciful. It is with this heart that Cain cries out, "My punishment is too great to bear! Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." But God is great in His mercy which we bestows on the sons of men. And he mercifully forbears the righteous judgment of the first murderer, allowing him to live and not die for many years. SECONDLY, Cain was the first murderer. The first to destroy that which God had created in his own image. The first to spill the life, the blood of an innocent man into the ground. Cain defiled the earth with spilling innocent blood. And the only thing that could cleanse it was the blood of Cain. Cain feared his righteous judgment as God set forth in His Law; Genesis 9:6 “Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man.” Numbers 35:30-33 'If anyone kills a person, the murderer shall be put to death at the evidence of witnesses, but no person shall be put to death on the testimony of one witness. 'Moreover, you shall not take ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death. 'You shall not take ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to live in the land before the death of the priest. 'You shall not take ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to live in the land before the death of the priest. 'So you shall not pollute the land in which you are; for blood pollutes the land and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. THIRDLY, You know Cain killed his brother. The people who would be around during the life of Cain would have known about this, they would be Cain’s family, the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, his brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces. At that time there were not millions of people, and this had not happened thousands of years ago. This was the first murder. FINALLY, We are not told what sign God used. God has used different signs to signify His restraint of Judgment, i.e. the rainbow, the blood over the doorposts at the Passover, and the seal He will put in the foreheads of the 144,000 in the last days, described in the book of Revelation. What sign He used with Abel is something we cannot know because it does not say. But it was of God, and everyone knew what it meant. royfish316 |

2 | three things we are not to worried about | Luke 12:22 | royfish316 | 199262
The 'We' is anyone... Anyone who would cling to the words of Christ, as the only truth. To find their life not in the things of this life but in Him. And lay aside their way for the only way, Jesus Christ. This is a call for any people but most assuredly for 'His people.' |

3 | three things we are not to worried about | Luke 12:22 | royfish316 | 199226
Deacon, We are told at least three things not to worry about, that are listed here in Luke 12 and also in Matthew 6: Food, Drink, and Clothing. We are told that the kingdoms of the world seek after these things and are preoccupied with meeting their physical needs and so have their mind about the physical world. God does not what His people to be occupied with these things, He calls them to look at the natural world and see that God’s care provides for even the least of creation, the flowers and the birds, how much more does he love us. Matt 6:31 "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' And more than these three things we are called not to worry about; Our LIFE: Luke 12:22 And He said to His disciples, "For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your LIFE... The FUTURE: Matt 6:34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. What we will SPEAK when persecuted: Mark 13:11 "When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. ANYTHING: Phil 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. God does not us to worry about ANYTHING… Because He loves us, and cares for us, and is with us and is helping us, what do we have to worry about. All we need to do is trust Him. But we must trust in Him. It should be noted this does not mean that we act in complete disregard to our physical needs, anything about this earthly life, the future, or what we say to others, or anything else for that matter. These are things that should be approached with certain degrees of reverence, respect to the specific situation, and given to Christ, but not worried about, distressed about, we don’t have to do that, because we have the Living God of all-power with us, who has called us to lay all of our burdens upon Him because He loves us. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. So we are free to be the person God has called us to be in Christ. -royfish316 |
