God has blessed me (along with the majority of other women) by creating me in a way in which I can reproduce. If I have no fertility issues I will continue having children until my child bearing years come to an end. God does not stop pregnancy because it is not the right time for someone to be pregnant. We see this in many cases from the pregnant 13 year old who was molested by a family member to unwed pregnant teenagers who say, well, I guess God wanted me to get pregnant or he would not have allowed this pregnancy. They are pregnant because God created us this way and what a blessing it is to be able to bear children! I believe that if I am walking daily with God and His will for me is to have more children he will lay it on my heart. I do not believe that I should just keep putting myself in the situation to become pregnant just because I am able. It is by God's design that I am able to have many children but God has also designed my MIND and HEART that tells me my place is not on the farm with 14 children.
2 | does God intervene on a daily basis | Rom 8:28 | rocketr22 | 120037
Hi EdB!! Glad you butted in! I believe everything you are saying except this part... "if we were to believe things just happen or happen by chance then God would have to be ignoring us" I think things do happen by chance. But I do not think that this means that God is ignoring us. If I am one of the people in this world that, by chance, gets cancer God will use it for good Romans 8:28 and He definitely would never leave nor forsake me Deut 31:6. He would give me strength and hope through it. But God never wanted us to live with cancer or sickness in the first place, right? It is the fall of man that brought about the situations we must live with. And God, being as good as he is, uses even the bad in our lives for His good purpose. (I am not saying that God is not capable of doing whatever he wants, he certainly is, but is he behind everything we experience?) I guess I want to believe what every other Christian I know seems to believe without a second thought. But for some reason, I struggle so much with these concepts and I get hung up on the words and phrases Christians use. Like God will not give you anything you cannot handle. What does that mean? Who can handle the loss of a child or spouse or abuse or cancer etc.? So only the strong people who are not in jeapordy of having a nervous breakdown etc. get the bad stuff? I also get frustrated when Christians say things like "well, i guess God wanted this to happen for some reason and i probably will not know until i get to heaven" I want to have the attitude that I will learn and grow from each situation as God guides me through it. Rather than always thinking there is some big reason for everything from why I got a cold to why a loved one died of cancer. Any input would be great. |

Hi Angel! Thank you so much for your answer. I just started using the forum and this was my first question. I am so glad people answered! If I could ask another question in response to your answer... God certainly allows "us to suffer through various situations" in life but does that mean it is correct to say... well this situation happened in my life and God allowed it so He must have a reason... I believe that God has the power to stop anything from happening but I don't think he chooses to. I guess that I think God pretty much allows almost ALL situations to happen. In other words maybe in the course of my life he might "move" a couple times to save me from some situation but I believe that this rarely happens. My Christian friends believe it happens on a daily basis. |

4 | Do All Things Work Together For Good? | Rom 8:28 | rocketr22 | 120024
Hi!! I struggle with this same type of thing but...don't you already know the answer? You have certainly seen God do good things with bad situations. Is your struggle really with the question does the good outweigh the bad?...Did God CAUSE a child to be hit by a drunken driver so something good could happen? This is where I am stuck. I have a friend who was sexually abused by her father for 9 years. I don't believe this was in God's plan or part of God's purpose for her life. I do believe that if she allows God to work, He will bring good out of it. But I think it happened because of the awful sin and godlessness of her father.
5 | To what extent does God intervene? | Not Specified | rocketr22 | 119982
To what extent does God intervene in a Christian's life? My friends think everything happens for a reason and God causes good and bad in your life for a purpose. I tend to think that we are living in a fallen world and life happens. For example, if I were to have a miscarriage, I don't think that it is because God is trying to teach me something or "there must be a reason" etc. I think that miscarriages just happen becuase we don't live in a perfect world. I DO believe that God will use the situation for good and that I can grow closer to God because of the situation. But I do not believe that God caused it for a purpose. I believe life brings along enough situations for God to work and help Christians grow. Is this a totally faithless way of thinking?
