1 | Is Grace Still Amazing to Us? | Hab 3:18 | refump | 203034
As I look back to the reason I invited Christ into my life as Lord and Savior at the age of 9 it is hard to remember what the motivation was. It seems it was dominated by the fear of going to hell not so much out of my appreciation for the love and grace of God. I understand as best I can understand the price He paid for my sin and that it was born out of His love for me. I understand GRACE more from an intellect than in my heart. I dont get emotional when I think of what Christ has done for me but I understand what he has done for me and accept it. I often wrestle with this and wonder why I don't have more of a "heart felt" appreciation for His grace. I know I only love Him because He first loved me but why doesn't the thought of His Grace, His ultimate sacrifice and payment of my debt of sin bring me to tears? I face this head on.I will continue to study His Word and seek Him for an answer.
2 | Others more important than yourself | Not Specified | refump | 202775
In Phillipians 2:1-4 Paul says regard one another as more important than yourselves; and do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. He goes on to give us our Lord Jesus as an example who will ultimately have every knee bowed to Him. It is somewhat confusing in that we are suppose to think of other more important but with the ultimate outcome of being greater... it is almost like we have an alterer motive .. to be lifted up we have to "act" humble |
