2 | turn of events God's Will for rehoboam? | 2 Chr 10:15 | rachellynn | 202693
i do not understand what this verse means at all i know that it was prophesied that it would happen, and it did. But jsut because God said that it would happen, does this mean that it was Gods WILL? i ask because it states that the turn of events was FROM GOD. how can this be from god? what does this tell me about God's character? Does this mean that every thing that God says will happen for the good or for the bad is from him because he says it? any explanation? |

3 | Ho do we know that it was the angel.... | Gen 32:1 | rachellynn | 198400
DO you or anyone else know where to find thsi to back it up? After reading this chapter I came to this conclusion myself and debated whether it as an angel or God or Jesus, and I came to the conclusion that you wrote above, but how do I convince someone else of that? Is there anywhere else in the bible that can back this up?
4 | Does Not Mean Baptism | John 3:5 | rachellynn | 198337
i must admit, i didn't agree with you at first, but you made a good argument about Jesus said in verse 6 "That which is born of the flesh (physical birth) is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit (meaning spiritual birth in contrast to the previous mentioned physical birth) is spirit. that really made me think it over |

5 | You are saved when you accept Christ . | John 3:5 | rachellynn | 198336
I do not believe that this part in scripture is referring to a physical birth because for one, Jesus always talked in parables and poetry, Two, right before he states that, he was responding to nicodemus' question about not being able to go back into the womb, Jesus said john 3:5....so why would it be twisting the scripture?
6 | ahabs family prophesied to die... | 2 Kin 10:6 | rachellynn | 198095
I know that earlier on it was prophesied that all of Ahabs descendants would die completely... (You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the LORD's servants shed by Jezebel. 8 The whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab every last male in Israel—slave or free. 9 I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah) but why did it have to happen like this. (Know then, that not a word the LORD has spoken against the house of Ahab will fail. The LORD has done what he promised through his servant Elijah." 11 So Jehu killed everyone in Jezreel who remained of the house of Ahab, as well as all his chief men, his close friends and his priests, leaving him no survivor.) why did God have the anointed king Jehu order that this whole descendant line of the old king DIE. why couldn't there have been a natural disaster or something so that we would know for sure that it could only have been from the Lord. I guess i am really questioning if this part was truly prophesied by God or not. Dont get me wrong I know that all scripture is God breathed and holy, but isn't it common that people mistake the voice of the Lord? Why did God have to use the king to kill all of those people? I just thought it was kind of sick how he asked for seventy human heads to be chopped off. Who would have to do that, and wouldn't they be scared emotionally? I dont know, i guess that has do do with the culture as well. what do y'all think? |

7 | what is the significance of 2 kings 9: | 2 Kin 9:7 | rachellynn | 198093
2 Kings Chapter 9 can some one help me understand this chapter in kings? ok so, this is the important things that i have collected out of it Elisha tells a young boy who was with the prophets to go get Jehu and anoint him with oil and then tell him that the lord anoints him king over isreal. after that, all i realize is that Joram dies by an arrow, and then jezebel gets thrown out the window and eaten by the dogs. I don't really see the importance of this chapter in the bible. I don't see what i am supposed to learn from this segment of the bible. maybe i am not trying hard enough, but i just feel like there is something deeper that i am missing. |

14 | A spiritual song, what is its power? | 2 Kin 3:15 | rachellynn | 197524
Thank's for the great response. It was very interesting to read about the information you have discovered about Bach. I agree with you about not finding truth from experience, for I know that it was indeed an evil spirit (we told it to leave, so its gone now) and that NO truth can be found within it. Thank you for directing me back to the word of God for the answers. |

15 | A spiritual song, what is its power? | 2 Kin 3:15 | rachellynn | 197489
What you say is true, Doc. I understand that music puts you in the right mindset, but why? It is obvious that music can calm us or pump us up. But, Is there something spiritual that happens? What is the relationship between a heavenly song, creating an atmosphere like that in heaven and hearing from God? I don't know i guess this is all really about me trying to figure out why a spirit would destroy my only stringed instrument used for prayer time. Would they actually think that its effective or necessary? Did they feel that my instrument was a weapon or a threat? |

16 | why does Elisha need music to intercede | 2 Kin 3:15 | rachellynn | 197487
I am sorry if that last sentence in my question seemed rude to some people, I didn't intend on it to. I had previous questions that were not answered by other people because one person gave a lame suggestion that made no sense. I just didn't want that to happen again. Thank you for your alertnesses, and also for a great response. |

17 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | rachellynn | 197397
in NIV: Whatever exists has already been named, and what man is has been known; no man can contend with one who is stronger than he. in NLT: Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny. does this mean that God controls everything? Does he know what is going to happen and let it fall into place that way? Do we have any say in our own destiny? Can we change the future? what does this verse even tell us about the character of God? please do not answer if you are unsure. |

18 | Was God sinning? | Bible general Archive 4 | rachellynn | 197396
No God wasn't sinning no they were not sinning no God did not tell them to sin first of all what is sin? sin is disobedience to God breaking his commandments that he gives us God told us that murder is wrong but what is murder In my opinion, murder is when a person takes another persons life out of hate, jealousy, anger, or pride. Some people beleive that its more than that, such as killing someones spirits with words of hate, liek really talking them down, making themselves believe they are worthless. But when god told the isrealites to go to battle and "kill" people, he was not telling them to murder. It was a principle that needed to be defined. One nation had The lord on their side and the other had idols that they made. Sometimes God showed his wrath to those nations through the isreal's victorious wars. The bible says that there is a time for war and a time for peace. No our Lord is not all about violence, but he will be with you in your battles Second of all God cannot sin he can't disobey himself |

19 | why does Elisha need music to intercede | 2 Kin 3:15 | rachellynn | 197395
so in this verse, Elisha is asked to communicate to God for the army and kings. He asks to have someone play a harp, or minstrel. Once the stringed instrument is playing the power of God came upon him . Does he need the music to play personaly for comunication with God, or was that the only way to create an atmosphere like heaven before jesus sent the holy spirit at pentacost? Now I need some serious responses to this. Do not respond with the silly answers or guesses. |
