1 | christians should be sad?? | Eccl 7:3 | quick_piano | 166155
Where in Ecc. does it say to be sad all the time? where in Ecc. does is say to do anything all the time? the theme of the book is balance. Solomon wonders why do anything in this world when it amounts to nothing? so he tries it all, wondering what the secret fulfillment to life is. his conclusion... the last 2 versus.
2 | Who'll go through the tribulation? | Matt 24:31 | quick_piano | 166154
No, we will not go through the tribulation. Throughout the NT, the church is mentioned 115 times; 2 in Matt. before it was built; 96 is Acts-Jude; 16 in Rev 1-3; and last in Rev 22:16. We are told to look for Christ, not the tribulation. Don't you think Christ would have told them? The Bible teaches immenent return of Christ, not the trib. Nothing has to happen between now and the return of Christ. Throughout the gospels, Israel is told to look for signs of trouble, we're told to look for Christ. (John 14:23, 1 Cor 15:51, 1 Thess 4:15-18, col 3:4, col 2:15) The object of attack by Satan in Rev 12 is Israel, not the church. In our day, Satan is persecuting the church, in the trib he persecutes the woman, why? because we are not there. It fits God's character to take out the righteous before times of perril. Rahab was taken out before the fall of Jericho (Josh 2:13) Lot in Gen 19:22, God withheld judgment and wrath until righteous were gone. He took Noah (Gen 6:9) and gave him safety above all of the flood. It's not God's character to let us suffer. Daniel and Jesus speak of the trib and don't mention the church. 7 years the church is not there. the church's trib is now. in Rev ch 2,3 7 letters to 7 churches. 16 times "church" is mentioned and 7 times the phrase "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Rev 3:10 to Philadelphia "Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth" Furthermore there are 3 parts to Rev. Ch 1 "write therefore the things in which you have seen" The patmos vision. 2nd thing to write is the things which are, written in 96 A.D. the church is "which are". Ch. 3 deals with things which are. 3rd thing, "things which shall take place after these things. back to 3:10 "to keep you from" is the Greek prepositioni APO means "out from" (immunity to, to be kept from, not kept through). the church is mentioned in Rev 3:22 parrallel with rev 13:9, NO CHURCH!
3 | The ingathering of Israel? | Matt 24:31 | quick_piano | 166153
I am convinced that the elect is Israel. Matt 24:16-29 is in perfect harmony with Rev 12:14-17. At the beginning of the Great Tribulation those who are Judea must flee to the mountains, hoping it's not the sabbath. In Rev 12:14-17, Satan is persecuting the woman (Israel) not the church. The church is the bride of Christ, not the woman who gave birth to Christ (Rev 12:5). I can go into further detail if you wish, but I feel that this is sufficient. |

5 | Dealing with Difficult people? | 1 Timothy | quick_piano | 166150
A big problem nowadays with churches is lack of discipline. As Paul insructs Timothy we see that he feels it very important in the leadership of the local church. Without it, churches are left to corruption within themselves. Asking forgiveness is not near enough to make up for the teachers lack of grace and mercy. It sounds to me that she is in no position to be teaching this class. Our youth is the leadership for tomorrow and all she is teaching them is that they can run Christ's body however they want to. Find someone that is much stronger in their spiritual walk.
