1 | straight people who views gays as ok? | Rom 12:18 | pepper_jw | 160800
Hi, The same principle goes with how we should view gay people and others who choose a different lifestyle than the one that we approve, such as idol worshipers. The Bible does not condone these practices and lifestyle choices. But we are to "hate what is wicked" (Ps 45:7) by not agreeing to what they do, while still "remain peaceable with all men as far as possible" (Rom 12:18). Even Jesus ate with sinners (Luke 5:30, 31). I believe any anti-gay sentiments directed towards the "people" are not in harmony with Rom 12:18; just as any anti-Buddhist or anti-Hinduist or anti-whatever is wrong. Instead, we should oppose the wrong practices themselves by promoting a moral lifestyle through our own conduct and constructive public declarations of the Bible's truth. Peace, Pepper |

3 | Genesis Beginning | Genesis | pepper_jw | 160118
Hi NightJay, 1. The serpent was one of the animal creatures in the animal kingdom created by God. The true identity of the serpent is not a talking snake, but Satan himself. Rev 12:9 tells us clearly that Satan is "the Original Serpent". Satan used the snake just as a ventriloguist talks through a puppet. Using the snake, an animal which Adam and Eve no doubt looked after (Gen 1:28), Satan was able to lower Eve's guard and suspicion when the lie was told. 2. Although Adam and Eve did not die on the spot, they did die in God's eyes when they disobeyed. The analogy is like when you turn the fan off, the moment you unplug it, it is cut off from the source of its sustenance. Likewise, when the first couple disobeyed God, they were cut off from the source of life, destined to die in due course. The account in Mt. 21:19-20 says that the fig tree wither immediately, but Mk 11:19-21 seems to suggest that the fig tree was discovered later in the day to have been withered. It's probably the same thing here, when Jesus pronounced the tree to be withered, it probably did right away, but it did not appear to be so until later in the day. I hope this helps. 4 | What constitutes a marriage in Gods eye | Bible general Archive 1 | pepper_jw | 160115
Also, Hebrews 13:4 talks about the need to ensure that the marriage bed (and the marriage) is honourable. A careful review of the first marriage in human history shows that Adam and Eve were presented in front of the proper authority at the time, namely God. (Gen 2:22) We can therefore deduce from Rom 13:1 and this verse that it is appropriate in God's eyes for marriages to be shown proper honour by registration with the Authorities. |

5 | how should we answer a fool? Pro. 26:4,5 | Prov 26:5 | pepper_jw | 67907
Hmmm, another interesting one I would love to hear anyone's comment on: Check out Pro 26:4 and 5 What conclusion should one draw from these 2 verses? In the end, do we or don't we? I think the writer of Proverbs here has something deep to say here, and I would love to hear others thoughts on this. Blessings, Pepper |

6 | Face of the cherub or the bull? | Not Specified | pepper_jw | 67899
Why the "face of the cherub" and not the "face of the bull"? Ezekiel described the faces of the cherub in two places, Ezek 1:10 and 10:14. I have always wondered why he described the face of the bull as the face of the cherub in Ezek 10:14, possible textual error? |
