1 | What wasGod saying in John 12.24 | 1 Cor 15:36 | oxtobyd | 196498
Hi, what i got from the reading is Jesus describing in symbolism His death and resurrection, and that He needed to die (the single grain) but when raised again and many would accept the Gospel of Jesus (bringing forth much fruit). Just my 2p's worth. Cheers
2 | agree with your view, but also wanted to | John 1:1 | oxtobyd | 196496
don't worry, no intention of trying to be anything other than a servant to Christ. I'll try and hunt down the study on John, and thank-you for your reply. The challenge for us is to perceive/see as Jesus did so we can follow His example and nudging to respond and act on His behalf. Cheers
3 | agree with your view, but also wanted to | John 1:1 | oxtobyd | 196475
Hi, appreciate your view, i've always taken the view you've put, but wanted to try and explore the scripture in more depth rather than just take the 'normal' answer, since in my study times i'm wanting to really start to explore the 'whys' behind scripture and be safe in asking the pointy questions of God, and i guess the Gospel of John is the first book i've started to really 'get into' rather than just 'get through' if you see what i mean. I was wondering for myself, if in someway Jesus was able to see things like they would be taking place in the heavenlies, and therefore just doing the same here on earth, since the knock on implication is, if Jesus was able to see what the Father was doing in the heavenlies, then why can't we, and then do as we see the Father do, hope this makes sense?? |

4 | Mmm, not really an answer to the questio | John 1:1 | oxtobyd | 196468
Mmm, not really an answer to the question, since the way the scripture states it, is that Jesus can only do what He sees the Father do, therefore implies Jesus has seen the Father do healing elsewhere. Since if it where as you suggest, maybe the scripture would read more like, I can only do what the Father can do, rather than the implied, that Jesus has seen the father already at work. If we take your view of Jesus and God been the same (which i agree they are) then Jesus would already have needed at have healed someone to repeat what He-God had done, but the healing of the lame is the fist account in Jesus time, unless we mean of course the healings from the Old Testemant??
5 | John 5:19 how did Jesus see what God did | Not Specified | oxtobyd | 196454
In John 5:19 says about Jesus only been able to do what He sees the Father doing. There simple question really, how did Jesus see what God was doing, since in the John 5 its about the lame man been healed, thus did Jesus see God healing others and therefore Jesus did what he was already seeing the Father do, or did Jesus see this in some other sort of way?
