1 | Did God break His own law for David? | Exodus | orangejay47 | 227480
This was my first attempt to use the forum and somehow I posted under Exodus, which is obviously the wrong place. I apologize and will endeavor to learn my way around here a little smarter. Thank you for the answer. I searched for a long time and began to suspect the crimes may have been the problem and not the forgiving of God. Thank you so much. Is there a reference for your answer about no sacrifice available?

Lev 17:11 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.' Psa 51:16 For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. 2 Samuel 12:13 Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has [fn]taken away your sin; you shall not die. I understand that Psalm 51 indicates that David had a foreshadowing of the Cross, but at the time of David's grave sins Christ had not yet come and the sacrificial law was strictly adhered to. So, did God really forgive his sins without the mandatory blood sacrifice? Did God break His own law for David? |
