1 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | nporter | 164889
That's a good verse! I think we should have a motivation to do what is right. It seems that there was a problem with sexual immorality and other sin that Paul was dealing with at that time and people were taking advantage of grace. I think it is good not to get too focused on the law. That is a good way to miss what is really improtant. The Pharasies did that a lot. I used to go to a church where the paster would preach Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Since he isn't resting on the Sabbath Day, is he sinning? He would rest on Monday. What would Jesus say to this paster who realizes that the weekend is the best time to to preach since that is when people are availible? This paster does have whot God is more interested in which is a passion for the Lord. The sabbath day is for our benefit! Mark 2:27 Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. |

2 | How to witness to an Islamic? | Bible general Archive 3 | nporter | 164667
It seems like it is hard to convince someone that there religion is wrong. It usually starts an arguement. I think a good way to witness to anyone who thinks they are right with God through religion is to bring up the Ten Cammandments. I do know that the Ten Commandments are included in their book. Ask the following... Are you going to Heavan? Can I ask a few questions to find out for sure? Have you ever stolen anything? What does that make you? Have you ever lied? What does that make you? Jesus said if you look with lust then you commit adultry in your heart. Have you done that? (Most peaple have done a lot more than that and that makes this very convicting.) What does that make you? You would say. "To sum it up... you are a theiving, lying, adulterer at heart and you have to stand before God on judgement day. How are you going to plead?" What a suprize it is when they answer! It goes to show you that the law really is ritten on the human heart. Usually people would admit THEMSELVES that they are going to hell. If they say God is forgiving then ask if God is just and relate that to a judge just forgiving a murderer or a sex offender etc. Reiderate that they are in big trouble and ask them what they are going to do! Now the message of salvation makes sense! Sinse the law is ritten on the human heart this makes sense to about everyone. Pretty amazing! You can see this in action by wathing a program called "Way of the Master". I think you can look it up at www.wayofthemaster.org Have a merry Christmas! Nick |

3 | what is an unclean spirit | Mark 1:26 | nporter | 164666
Hello! I just typed "unclean spirit" in the word search. It appears that it is some sort of an evil spirit. I'm not sure if the Bible gives any more details about this. Matt 10:1 Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. 3 Matt 12:43 "Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it. 4 Mark 1:23 Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 5 Mark 1:26 Throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him. 6 Mark 1:27 They were all amazed, so that they debated among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him." 7 Mark 3:11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, "You are the Son of God!" |

4 | Honor the Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | nporter | 164579
Good question. Make sure all your understanding of the Law is centered around the teachings and life of Christ. You could start with John 9 to see how Jesus delt with these issues. In Matthew Jesus said he is more conserned about compassion than keeping the Law. Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law |

I think Paul is suggesting that you kind of fit in. This will help you spread the good news.
7 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | nporter | 164576
I'm with you on this. I don't think people should argue about the sabbath. According to scripture Jesus is more interested in compassion. Matt 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath." Matt 12:3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and his companions, Matt 12:4 how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat nor for those with him, but for the priests alone? Matt 12:5 "Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent? Matt 12:6 "But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here. Matt 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,' you would not have condemned the innocent. Matt 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." |

8 | Which day is number seven? | Ex 20:10 | nporter | 164574
Haven't we all broken the commandments? I think this is to help us understand that you have to be perfect to get into heaven outside of Christ.
9 | Sin | Rom 5:1 | nporter | 162328
Your right! We are born condemmed because of the sinful nature we inherited from Adam. Becaues of Adam it is natural for us to sin. It's a condition that we have. We are born as people who rebel against God and his commands. Our sinful nature causes us to sin and we are accountable for the sins that we commit. Think of the sinful nature as the driving force behind our desure to sin. It's the different sins we commit that we are accountable for. Anyone have some good scripture on this? |

10 | What does ecclesiastes 6:2 mean? | Ecclesiastes | nporter | 162327
Hello. This is a neat website! I just signed up. To give a simple explaination... "A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor so that his soul lacks nothing of all that he desires;" I understand this to mean that the purpose that God gives us these things is to give us pleasure. "yet God has not empowered him to eat from them," Have you met anyone who is real successful and isn't happy? God has not empowered this person to enjoy what he has given them. "For a foreigner enjoys them. This is vanity and a severe affliction." Some people will aquire prosperity to impress other poeple. It's all about their image! The people that are associated with this person are the only ones who enjoys what he has! This passage tells me to appriciate what God gives me. I would continue to pray and seek the Lord on weather or not you are going to get a raise. Here are some things you could pray about. Am I being a good stewart with what I have so you can give me more to manage? You shouldn't expect more from God if you are just waisting what you have. I have learned that the way someone manages there finances reflects the kind of person they are. A pastor once told me there is a direct relationship between the way I use wealth and my relationship with God! Have I been a good enough employee to deserve a raise? You could ask the Lord to help you work smarter and harder. Your father-in-law would probably have no problem giving you a raise if you had an impressive work ethic. I think people deserve to be paid based on there ability. How much are you worth? I wish I had some scripture to reference you to! I'm still learning how to remember exactly where these verses are. God bless and I hope you get the raise! |
