2 | The continuing debt to love one another | OT general | north | 63405
Cheryl Prov 17:1 Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it Than a house full of feasting with strife. Prov 21:9 It is better to live in a corner of a roof Than in a house shared with a contentious woman. Prov 21:19 It is better to live in a desert land Than with a contentious and vexing woman. In Acts 15:36-41 Paul and Barnabus had sharp contentions so they parted from one another. That is not to say they did not have brotherly love, they just found that because of their contentions they they found it best that they not travel together. |

3 | Caught in a sticky web.... | OT general | north | 63323
Cheryl I too have been in bad relationships. Count on the things we don't like to not change. That should be warning enough. Since you are not held in this relationship by marriage I would suggest you read what you have written about the way you feel. As an outsider on this story I must say it does not sound like a healthy situation for any person to be in, let alone a Christian. That comes from the announcement you made about this being a dating relationship and the assumption that you have accepted Christ into your life. Even if you have not accepted Christ you are at least searching for answers in a proper place, from fellow Christians. Though we are Christians and called to love others does not mean any dating relationship we are in with another person must lead to something more. I would agree with Ed that this sounds like a co-dependant situation. Trust me those are not good. We are to date others to find someone with whom we are compatable. Find someone who is right for you not just someone you are attracted to. A Scripture that comes to mind is- I Cor 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals." I know it sounds hard when you have strong feelings toward another person, hoping they would just change this certain thing and then you would be happy. That does not happen. We all must first do as Matt 6:33 says "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you". Jesus is talking about our physical needs but this should also cover our emotional needs. The closer we get to God, the more we study His Word, the clearer our direction becomes. Relationships are so tough we must keep our close relationships with God and strong Christians. I would suggest you read and study Gods Word, pray regularly, go to a good Christ centered Church, go to a good Bible Study, get involved in that Church. You should find that you will grow in wisdom and understanding. You will get to know people who can truly love you and you will then know what that kind of love feels and looks like. Then looking back you will give God more thanks than ever before. Prov. 3:5-6 5)Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6)In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. If this sounds to simplistic thats because it is. Trusting in God required only a simple faith. It is simple but not always easy. May God bless you and give you the courage, wisdom and understanding that you need. I will pray for you also. I hope this is of some help North |

May I ask what type of relationship this is as that would make a difference to the answer. Is this a close friendship, a dateing relationship, a courting relationship or is it a married relationship. Any one could have the problems you describe but each one would have different answers.
5 | Mal 3:8 Question to Q and A | Mal 3:8 | north | 63300
Malachi 3:8 Question to the Question and Answers (because of Malachi 3:8 I can't be a Sunday school teacher. Is this true?) As those of you who frequent this site can tell I am new here. I am enjoying the conversations and forgive me if my chatter is not up to your level and I mean that seriously. I am trying to be brave enough to add my limited knowledge to these questions. If ever my questions or answers are inappropriate for this site please let me know. I ask your patience. Thank you If this question on lack of tithing is as it sounds in that the individual sounds like they used to tithe. They wanted to serve by teaching Sunday School. A problem comes along which could happen to anyone in todays uncertain job situation. Would God want that person to continue serving while attempting to get their life back to a level where they can continue to tithe, or would it be better to continue to tithe and not pay the bills which keep coming? Either the story is coming across with a slant that is hiding some information or could the person who wants the individual out of serving have to much of a legalistic attitude showing no mercy? north |

6 | can the deceased crossover? | Hebrews | north | 63252
Luke 16:19-31 This is the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Though it is a little different than your situation it still talks of the communication between the levels that God has for us. The latter vs from vs 27-31 give the indication that the dead are not sent back to help the living. We are to recieve our help as vs 29 says from Moses and the prophets ie: the Bible |

7 | I won"t be saved if I don't tithe | 2 Corinthians | north | 63248
Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Rom 4: 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." 4 Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, We are saved by the grace of God through the blood and death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and not by what we do. NKJV Eph 2:4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. Rom 3:31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law. Though we are saved by His blood and only by Christ, Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.", we must still do what we are able. Our God is a merciful God. There are times in our lives when things happen which don't allow us to do all we would like to do, God looks at our heart. We must pray and work at our situation to get back to the position of the level of giving which we feel is right whether that is 10 percent or more. |
