1 | ahabs family prophesied to die... | 2 Kin 10:6 | nettieluv6 | 198103
Well, if you look back, most of the trouble started in 1 Kings 21 when Ahab wanted the land of Naboth. Naboth was killed and the Lord was angered by this. He sent Elijah to Ahab, wo was still on Naboth's land. Elijah spoke "I have found you," he answered, "because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD." (1 Kings 21:20) Ahab killed Naboth in cold blood, and so his punishment was the same. His descendants were also killed. I believe that the seventy heads were used as proof that it had been done to show Jehu it was finished. Also, if you look back on Elijah's prophecy, he said that "Dogs will eat those belonging to Ahab who die in the city, and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country." 1Kings 21:24 So bringing them to the gate and leaving them would have fulfilled this. If you look throughout thw bible, you will see that these were cruel times. They stoned people, cut their heads off and killed whole tribes. These acts were commonplace, and probably weren't seen as horrific as they sound today. God is vengeful and He does punish those that anger Him. He didn't always use natural disasters to get things done; he often used regular people. Since Jehu was in power, he was in a place to have Ahab's descendants executed. I hope that helped. |

I apologize, I understand. Thank you.
3 | What does Bible say about making out? | Matt 26:41 | nettieluv6 | 198049
I apologize, you're right. I didn not phrase what I meant to say correctly. We should always go to GOD...ALWAYS. I believe that with simple problems, we can use our God-given common sense. Like, for instance, that young man's common sense is telling him he shouldn't be "making out" but he can choose not to listen. What I meant was that if he cannot use his God-given common sense, then take it to the Lord. Sorry! |

5 | What does Bible say about making out? | Matt 26:41 | nettieluv6 | 198046
I would like to help, if I can. I am in college and struggled with this also. I found it easier to abstain from anything that had anything to do with anything leading to fornication (lol) But a verse I have for you: Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." You may want to make out with your girlfriend, but that is a fleshly desire. Making out also tempts you to go further and makes you think indecent/lustful thoughts. The world says that there is nothing wrong with it, but that is the world. Think about this: If dating is an exercise to meet a spouse and you don't end up marrying your current girlfriend, you have been kissing someone else's wife. So, use your best judgement and when all else fails, go to God. Good luck! |

Please do not follow up on questions if you're not going to help. Ephesians 4:29 Say only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. |

Hadassah- ruth, We are creatures of sin, and God knows that. He knows that we will sin because we are not perfect. As christians we try to live right but because we're human we fall. So we will have to repeatedly ask for forgiveness. But because God sent us Jesus, if we believe and pray and ask for forgivness through Jesus, we are forgiven. You do not have to be sinless to be saved or else no one would be. |

San Lukas, do you understand what they are saying? Do you agree? I know that sometimes its hard to understand whats going on in the bible because it jumps around. In regards to your first question, the two verses do are not a contradiction because they are not referring to the same matter. The first verse , Isa:43:11, is the Lord telling us that besides Him, there is no other power that can save us. Meaning That if you don't come to the Lord God, you cannot be saved. Now Jesus, who is also called the son of God, is God in human-form. God sent himself to us so that he could understand our plight. So because Jesus came, we can be saved. Jesus, who is God, is the only way to be saved. No other gods can save you. |
