2 | Verdict on the ESV: An opinion poll.. | Ps 119:105 | ndrai3gsx | 31622
Although there are no abvious, or glaring mistranslations; it would be wise to remember where these mistakes are, so as to not fall into any false doctrines. It would be easy to foret that a certain verse whould read differently, and accidentally begin to beleive a different way than before, all becasue of the wrong word, here, or there. However, let's not get caught in the other side of the issue here, let's not decide that we are going to be so paraniod that we never use it at all, and miss out on any benifits that it may bring us.
3 | please, two part question, need more | Ezek 3:18 | ndrai3gsx | 31611
Fellowship is maintained through obedience to the revealed will of God. The revealed will of God is clearly outlined in His word. When God’s will is not obeyed, fellowship is broken. Sin, no matter how small, will break this fellowship with Him.When a Christian sins, he/ she opens the door for more sin. Coldness toward God and the Bible develop in the heart. Unless restoration is speedily made, the habits of the old life will soon take over, (bringing the beleiver back into the old bondages) to the distress of the believer and the dishonor of God. If we persist in sin, God may have to use strenuous measures to restore the believer to Himself (Hebrews 12:3-15). If the Christian persists in sin, God’s dealings must be drastic and severe (1 Corinthians 11:28-32). The key to a life of fellowship with God is obedience to His revealed will. By His Word and the privilege of prayer, God makes possible our continual fellowship with Him and makes His will known to us. Furthermore, Christ indwells us through the Holy Spirit to work in us that which pleases God (Hebrews 13:20,21). God is perfectly and unchangeably holy, and since two cannot walk together or fellowship unless they are agreed (Amos 3:3), we must fellowship with Him according to His standards. He walks “in the light” and requires that we also “walk in the light”(1 John 1:7). This means that the believer’s life must be characterized by purity and uprightness, made possible through the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). Now we also have to realize, that a person cannot have this fellowship, or walk with god in the purity described, if they are not a child of God. We also know that one is not a child of God without haveing Christ in their life, according to the measure perscribed to in the Bible. Accordingly if one does not believe John 3:16,17, Romans 3:23, 10:9-10, ephesians 2;8-9 |
