2 | Bread and wine a way to bless? | Gen 14:18 | n.m.i.c. | 173357
Can anyone help expand what is happening here? Melchizedek brings bread and wine and blesses Abram. Melchizedek was a priest of Jehovah our god. We use bread and wine in our communion as Jesus led us to do. Did Rabbis and high priests use bread and wine to bless people when Abram was alive? Was this a traditional worship custom? Are any records available to find out?

4 | Is this the beginning of The Way? | Gen 1:3 | n.m.i.c. | 172498
Then God said "LIGHT" and there was light. This is different from the light from the sun, as described later in this chapter. Jesus said I am the light of the world. In genesis 1:3 is this the beginning of holiness? Is this the beginning of THE WAY?
5 | Here or there? | Ezek 48:35 | n.m.i.c. | 172376
I believe the last words are "The Lord is Here". Every translation I have so far found has said "The Lord is there". If we look at what Yahwey says , He speaks of desiring to have fellowship with us , His name meaning, "I am , Here, I am. How many instances in the bible does The Lord say and our Lord Jesus Christ also say " Here I am". Here and there are opposites. You cannot be here and at the same time be there( unless you are God!) Jehovah our God desires closeness with us. The bible tells us so. In Ezekiel The Lord speaks of how He will eventually come to dwell with us and be our light. He says He will be here with us . Therefor I believe the translation to be "The Lord is here." I believe the Holy bible to be completely accurate. What I know is that man ( and woman!) can accidentally/unknowingly/uncaringly change the meaning by changing one little word. The truth is my aim and faithfully serving the Lord. Can anyone help with the Hebrew or possibly Greek rranslation? Does anyone agree with me? |

6 | Where is the true translation? | John 12:7 | n.m.i.c. | 162020
Is this the true translation of Lord Jesus Christ's words? When I read the words as are written in many translations of the Holy bible and my own copies here at home, I instinctively knew Lord Jesus would NEVER had said to "leave her alone", Our Lord Jesus's nature is to draw to Him. Christ didn't say that even to satan. So ( thank the Lord for bible gateway resource)I researched the different tranclations of John 12:7 and found in Young's literal translation "suffer her" I understand this to mean -put up with her- This meaning is very different from "leave her alone" careless words can change the meaning of sentences. I told my feelings to my 12 year old daughter and her attitude was "so what! It's just words and leave her alone means.......( thnking process!)....leave her alone! In the battle between good and evil , a daily occurence, people are led , deceived, tricked into believing they are ALONE separated from God , no one to help them. That is often the aim of satan - to separate us from the love of God , or to trick us into thinking that. Our souls are susceptable to very subtle influences which sometimes go unnoticed. As Christians we must strive to stick as close as we can to Lord Jesus Christ and trust in Him, not our own selves. Can anyone tell me if in much earlier versions of King James translation (earlier than the current one)the words in John12:7 were translated as "suffer her"? |
