2 | HOW COULD JESUS BE A DESCENDANT OF DAVID | Bible general Archive 1 | mdc14561 | 90571
The book of Matthew gives the paternal ancestory of Jesus which would be necessary to establish His right to the throne, it ends in verse 16 with these words "Jacob the father of Joseph, the HUSBAND of MARY, Of whom was born Jesus, Who is called the Christ. Luke also gives the geneology but He goes in reverse starting with Jesus himself and he states "Being the Son, as was suppposed, of Joseph, the son of Heli, and going back. Mary was also Joseph's cousin according to history.
3 | How do I make God my best friend? | John 15:14 | mdc14561 | 90556
You should read the book of John. Specifically if you read John 15:14 where Jesus says"You are my friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do." (Amplified Bible) The question then becomes what is it that He commands me to do. Read John 14:5-15. Specifically in verse 11 Jesus says Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in me..., and in verse 6 He says "...I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; No one comes to the Father (God), Except by (through) Me. Seems pretty clear that to make God your best friend you must believe in Jesus as the Christ. Romans 10:9-20 Says "Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord an in your heart believe that God raised Him form the dead you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God) and with the mouth he confesses(declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms (to others) his salvation. This is like Abraham who was called a friend of God, not because of His works, but because when God called Him, He obeyed. Hope this helps. God Bless you! |

7 | How did adam and eve children have child | Gen 4:14 | mdc14561 | 74245
Hi, Just a quick thought on this subject. The reason we are not to involve in incest now is primarily biological. But if we consider the time in that Adam and Eve were having children, we should recognize that the earth was still relatively young and many of the diseases and illnesses that exist today, were not in the earth at that time. This would also I believe explain the long lives that they had. Consider Methusala who lived to be 969 years old and Adam who lived to be 939 years old. God commanded them to be "fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth." Genesis 1:28. Also refer to Genesis 4th chapter. |

God has not given us the spirit that leads to us fearing again. Is the reason we don't let them in because we are not wanting to be seen in fellowship with them or is it that we are afraid that they might influence us to waver from our faith? 2. How do we know that we might be able to bring them to the Lord, if we engage them?
