1 | Are our values cultural or biblical? | Bible general Archive 2 | lostwithoutHim | 141865
In part yes. But I totally agree with you. That's why my children don't believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, or the tooth fairy. The Bible says "Do not suffer witches" Woulld that not also apply to our liturature? Children are very spongey, in that they absorb EVERYTHING. If you don't tell them this is not of God, then they presume that it's ok. I like the story of the Mom who didn't want her kids to see the movie. The kids sasid, "It's only got a little language thing here and there, and a little witchcraft, but it's all in fun" The Mother thought, well, let's see how that logic works. She went into the yard and got some of the dog's 'mess' and added just a teaspoon to the brownies she was making. When they were done baking, she called the kids into the kitchen and said, "Now before you taste these, I want you to know that I put a new ingredient into the mix. I but just the smallest teaspoon of dog 'mess' into it. Now eat up!" Of course, no one would even LOOK at it. Mom said; "Well I don't understand, it's ok to watch crap, but not ok to eat it?" The kids never asked to see a movie with "just a little" anything again. Get the point? |

2 | WHEN WILL THE RAPTURE OCCUR? | Bible general Archive 2 | lostwithoutHim | 141863
The word "Rapture" is nowhere in the Bible. Most people are referring to 1Thes.4 that says that the dead in Christ shall rise first, then those living in Him will follow, then all will descend onto the earth. Whether it is before the tribulation or after is a question for the ages; and not clear biblically speaking. |

3 | what does the numbers in the bible repre | Bible general Archive 2 | lostwithoutHim | 141862
You mean the Chapter and Verses? If so, those were added by the translators to make referrencing more streamlined. Unfortunately, some of their choices of where to start and stop most verses and chapters leaves much to be desired. Anyway they were never in the Bible untill the late 1400's or so.
4 | wisdom? As He did this before anything. | Ps 103:10 | lostwithoutHim | 141860
No. The premise of the question (and the answers) is that God gave the Earth to Adam, and gave him authority over it. Therefore, God can't do anything without Mans authority. This is why we need to pray. If God intervenes, he makes himself a liar, because he gave it without conditions.
