You can look up some material from a Jew by the name of Josephus who specifically mentions him. This is a good source because of his position on Jesus. He was a Jewish anti-Christian, therefore, there is no reason for him to lie about his existance. By his being hostile to Jesus and the Chrisitan faith, his mention of him in his writings can be thought of as trustworthy because there is no positive bias there to color the facts. A good book to check into for this is "The case for Christ" by Lee Stroebel. Please let me know if I can be of further service. |

Absolutely there is apologetic material for just that. I sometimes attend a Messianic Jewish congregation on Saturday mornings, and they have a web site up which answers this and other questions. You can find them at www.wordofmessiah.org. Please let me know if I can be of futher service. God bless. |

3 | Who guards our faith? | 2 Tim 1:12 | king gonzo | 31285 | ||
charis, In reading this, I also look at the book of Ephesians, and looking at Ephesians I take note of the passage Eph 1:13-14. In it he specifically talks about us being sealed in with the Holy Spirit of promise, and I believe that this is the key to your question. It is also said that the Spirit will lead us into all truth. I believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who keeps our faith. In this passage, I don't think he is so much forsaking God, as he is saying that God is the one who is taking care of it all, and he is doing this by his Holy Spirit. I believe that if you dig a little further, you'll find that it is through this, which Paul usually refers to as "Christ in me", that he is able to deal with most/all of his problems. I'm not sure if this is the answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps! In Christ, king gonzo |
