1 | Why did Satan obey? | Ps 94:11 | joy101 | 135884
Wow, you are right. Satan did obey. Now, I'am just thinking outloud...Pardon if I ask a stupid question (I'm blond). God remained in control. Does God have control over Satan? If so, why does Satan live? Does he live? My head hurts, I'm going to stop now.

3 | So how do you hear God's voice? | Eccl 7:17 | joy101 | 135876
To know God dwells within me brings such peace. I grew up in a Christian home and have always known God but lately I feel I have been developing a close and personal relationship with Him. He is starting to come alive for me. I've learned more from spending time reading the questions and notes here than I have going to sunday school most of my life. You all seem to know so much more than I do. I look forward to learning more.
4 | So how do you hear God's voice? | Eccl 7:17 | joy101 | 135875
Thanks for sharing your experience. I find it has more meaning (for me) if I can see where God has been applied in someone's everyday life.
5 | So how do you hear God's voice? | Eccl 7:17 | joy101 | 135779
Angel, Most of my days are rushed and filled with multiple tasks going on at one time. I've been at this pace for so long I find it hard to "be quiet" so that I can hear God's soft and tender voice. Any suggestions on how to hear God's voice over the very loud and overwhelming world? |

7 | Why bother to make requests when we pray | Eccl 7:17 | joy101 | 135495
Hi Angel! Thanks for pointing out this parable. I guess you can't get any more direct than that. It brings me comfort to know God gives us the answers to all our questions. We only need to open the bible. |

8 | Why bother to make requests when we pray | Eccl 7:17 | joy101 | 135494
Thanks for your thoughts! He has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1John 4:21. It is interesting to me that such a simple statement can hold such impact. Makes me wonder if as sinful humans can we truly love our brother. Thanks again! You have given me something to think/pray about. |

If God already has your life planned, why bother to pray? For example; if a loved one is sick and you pray for their recovery but God's will is for this loved one to die, aren't you praying against God's will, so why bother?

11 | Why bad things happen? | Bible general Archive 2 | joy101 | 135179
That's not an easy question to answer. I find it easier to not ask why but rather how will I survive. God never promised to keep us from pain and suffering. However, he does give us the promise that he will never give us more than we can bear. In my darkest hours I thank God that he is with me. I try to imagine how someone who does not have faith would deal when "bad things happen". Makes me thankful I have God in my heart.
