1 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | johnj | 236255
Hebrews 11:4 answers this question. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. This is not saying Cain did not believe in what he was doing, but that he did not follow instructions as to what and how to offer. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God. This would indicate both men were instructed in worship to God. Cain was not willing to follow God's instructions, Abel did. It is possible each man was sincere, as was the apostle Paul when he persecuted the church, sincerely believing this was pleasing to God.
