1 | When will Jesus return? | 2 Thessalonians | john 146 | 96966
Thank you for the welcome justme' But I think that you might have misunderstood what I was trying to convey. I was not trying to push my view, although I do believe that it is obvious from reading it where I stand; it was not my intention to try and prove or disprove any view one way or the other. What I was trying to do is to ask the reader to consider the repercussions of what they are telling the world. So I didn't feel it nessessary to quote a whole lot of scripture when I was simply discussing an opinion on a controversial interpretation and its consecquenses. And one more thing, I was speaking about the rapure of the church in relation to the tribulation, not the millenial reign. And yes I completely agree with you on the point that Jesus said in Matt 24:36 "No one knows the day or the hour" so I don't pretend to, in fact I take it a step further and leave the door open for a pre-trib rapture, although I don't take that stance, I'm in no way dogmatic about it. But in considering the consequences if we're wrong, I think the price is too great. Which is why I said in the opening sentence of my previous letter, "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst." In response to your comments regarding my format, in furture letters I will try to remember that our opinions should be scripturally backed, although in this case, I don't see how I could have done that, being that I was just asking the reader to think about the consequences of what they are preaching. Thank you for your thoughts, I do appreciate your criticism and no I don't take it negetively. I always try to remain open to correction from other chritians, we are after all one body. However I do feel that you may have misundersood what I was saying, so in light of this letter maybe you could state more clearly what it is that you would like to tell me. In regard to the format of these letters though I will try to apply what you have said. Thank you, your brother in Christ, John 146 |

2 | Can God create a rock soo big? | Not Specified | john 146 | 96790
Can God create a rock so big, even he can't lift it? I'm sure we've all heard this question once or twice. How do we answer it? If we say yes then he's not powerful enough to lift it? If we say no, then he's not powerful enough to make it? We can't win. Or can we? This question would probably be unanswerable for those that don't believe in the God of the bible, so how do Christians answer? Well ask yourself another question in light of the bible. Can God lie? or sin? absolutly not, but wouldn't that mean that God is not all powerful? No we are not talking about attributes of God, Gods power is one of His attributes. The fact that God can't lie is in relation to His character, and has nothing to do with power. God's character prevents Him from lying, God's character prevents Him sinning. Just as it would be a violation of the character of God to create something that He could not control. The unchanging character of God directly reflects His nature as God. Anyone else care to comment? |

4 | satan and his power?!?!?!?!?!?hmmmmmm... | 2 Thessalonians | john 146 | 96788
Satan and his power, interesting question, and even though the bible is very limited on information regarding the subject, scripture in no way leaves us empty handed. Jesus rebuked Satan directly, and his disciples rebuked him through the name of Jesus, just as the arch-angel Micheal did when battling Satan over the body of Moses, he said, "The Lord rebuke you." So I think we can follow suit, we are given power over Satan and his angels in the name of Christ Jesus through the blood of Christ Jesus. For more info on the subject check out "Satans devices" a book by Dr Robert Morey- to order call 1-800-41-TRUTH. If you want my opinion on the rest, no I dont believe christians are subject to possesion you can only have one master, how could both the Lord and a demon share space in the same body? But their is another type of possesion that I believe christians are prone to; where one is plagued by demons from outside the body, placing thoughts in your head perhaps, trying to some how alter your mood, and even effecting our circumstances, just look at what happened to Job, but remember that Satan could do nothing to Job with out the permission of God. And remember the attitude of Job through his trails, no matter what happens praise God, don't look at life through the lens of mortality but through the lens of eternity, our treasure is in heaven. There is alot to be learned about Satan in the book of Job. I'm sure we have all at one time or another felt under attack spiritually. When you do feel under attack, rebuke not only satan but the thoughts that have crept in your head, we don't know if the source of those thougts is satan or just our flesh, rebuke them both, and then worship and praise God. I'm sure nothing lifts our spirits like worship even when we don't feel like it, esspecially when we don't feel like it. As for our thoughts, can satan read them? Well I'm not sure and I don't believe scripture gives us the answer, at least not straight forward anyway. But in my opinion I'm almost sure he can put thoughts in. They are a spiritually enemy and we don't fully understand the nature of spirit, are our thoughts spiritual in nature? If they are then wouldn't a spiritual being be able to pick up on them? Just some food for thought, and remember that most of this is just my opinion, and I have told you when and where, but I am open to correction. Your brother in Christ -john 146 |

5 | When will Jesus return? | 2 Thessalonians | john 146 | 96778
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Since we can't all agree on when, maybe we should take a good look at the reprecussions of both views. First we'll look at post-trib rapture; if we take this view we are ready for anything and everything, and if we are wrong, PRAISE THE LORD! Now lets look at pre-trib, if we take this view, we are putting all our hope into something we are not completely sure is going to happen. If it does great, but if it doesn't happen not only are we going to be shamefuly unprepared for the trails to come, but we open up the church for dangerous ridicule from sceptics. When we try to piont out the anti-christ people will in turn look at us and say "well if this is true, why are you still here? Where is this rapture you have been telling us about?" No wonder the scripture talks about a great falling away, all those half-way christians that go to church on easter and christmas, the ones that don't know their bibles, the same ones we've been telling "don't get left behind" they are going to look at us like we are crazy when it doesn't happen. And our enimies are going to scoff endlessly at us, how much harder are things going to be because of our own mouths. Not only physical persecussion, but ridicule, and from those that once called themselves christian. If you want to take this view that is your right, but do me and the church a favor and DONT PREACH IT. If you want to discuss it at a bible study that is one thing but to preach and proclaim to every one in and out of the church is only going to hurt us if we're wrong. Think people, I know its a great missionary tool to tell people "Don't get left behind," but what is going to happen to all those who were brought to Christ because they didn't want to get left behind? When they find out they are left behind the first thing they are going to do is rexamine everything they learned as a Christian. Why not prepare these people for the worst and hope for the best, as we our selves should do. Your faithful brother in Christ, John 146 |

6 | Would you kindly explain this text. | 1 Cor 14:34 | john 146 | 96702
first off lets start with 1 Cor. 14:33 the latter half reads "As in all the congregations of the saints," VS-34 continues "women should remain silent in the churches."- I then ask you, do we not belong to a congregation of the saints?- any reference to yelling by women is non-scriptural; historically speaking the seating arangements may differ but I doubt that people would be so rude as to interupt a teacher in the middle of a sermon and yell "Hey honey, whats that mean?" And when you do go to scripture I think we can all agree it is pretty clear. Why are we looking for loop holes in scripture? Understand the times? LOL well in our time its okay to suck a live fetus from its mothers womb, should we then nulify any scripture that would disagree? Please people, remember that we are to submit to the will of God, not impose our opinions on the Most High God; who are we to force our opinions into scripture? His will be done, not ours.
