Hi When I was younger I was not interested of any type of religion. I thought that the whole world was corrupt, including all religions. My answer to life was to live isolated.Well I got married and ofcourse I never really got to live that way for very long.I always looked at the world and religions from the third person point of view. Life was a prison sentence. School was a joke, they teach you history but they don't learn from it.I would have liked to learn things from the natural world, but school was 12 years of nothing.I was pretty bitter about people and conditions. It seemed to me that people had alot more going for them than what the were doing. It just didn't make sense. I had gone to a number churches with my parents when I was younger, Mormons, United, Pentacostal, and also looked into a few Eastern religions. But there was nothing really stuck, they just didn't have the answers I was looking for. I looked a nature and just knew something had made all this,( it was like the hardware was great but the software was full of bugs) Then one day someone showed me from the Bible why things were the way they were. That God had a plan but people were just not following it.Like the Bible says they had a form of Godly devotion but proved false to it's power. It also meant that I had to change some of my ideas too. There were 39 writers over a period of 1500 years and no contradictions and one theme, Gods Kingdom to be restored on earth and heaven. Finally something that made sense, and the way the world should be. But the Bible says that narrow is the road and few are the ones finding it. The Bible also says that the truths are hidden so that the ones with the right heart will be the ones that come to an accurate knowledge, and do Gods will. It made perfect sense to me.It also meant the you would have to struggle for it, for the Bible says that it is the one that endures to the end that will be saved. I did not go into this lightly, everthing in the Bible had to have backing, none of this mystery stuff. It's not the Bible that flawed it is peoples hearts, and that is not easy to change. Hope I didn't bore you, but I didn't know how else to answer you message. jme |

Zeph 3 8 Therefore wait ye for me, saith Jehovah, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger; for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 1 Thessalonians 5 1Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. 34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." jme |

Hi Steve This a good question, that you have raised. It's something that many Chritian and other religions don't seem get the point. Jesus when on earth, was neutral when it came to wordly governments, but he was a supporter of his Father Kingdom. ( many scriptures on this.)(He said to be as an Alien resident)That's why he said to his followers that even though you are in the world , be no part of it just as I am no part of it. (I use this scripture in a earlier post.)Jesus talked to people about Gods kingdom all the time. He supported himself as a tent maker. He was peaceable not getting involved in any wars, and told his followers to do the same. So true Christians donnot get involved in such things rather they were to spend their time in the ministry talking about Gods Kingdom. 2Cor 10:3 3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. Matthew 26 52"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Matt 7:21 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' There are many Scriptures on what Jesus followers should be like. jme |

Hi Hank Well I know that a lot Chritians now believe that, but that wasn't allways the case.In the time before Jesus was on the earth the Jews worshiped Jehovah, they were told by him what line he would come in and when he would come and what would happened to him. They were waiting for Gods Son. But they totally missed it except for a few. If we disagree we disagree.Everyone has that chioce, in these final part of the days. jme |

8 | Where does Jesus say He is God? | Bible general Archive 1 | jme | 45919
It says in this verse that the word was with God, and the Word was God. It says here that the word was with God. Not that he was the same God. I Cor 8:5 mentions many Gods and Lords. You also have to use this scripture with all the rest in the Bible , and I mentioned a number of these in my earlier post. Jesus says that he was with God and the Bible says that he was the first born. Also when Jesus was killed you are saying that they killed God.But the Bible says that God sent his only begotten Son,to be a mediator between man and God. and Jesus says many time that he is Gods son.The other thing that is interesting is that the life that Jesus lost was a perfect human created life. It was to make an a perfect exchange a life for a life. But if God was put to death, that would not have been a proper balance, for an uncreated God is much more than a perfect man.No matter what form he is in. So scripture out of context or with out useing all the Bible can bring one to a inaccurate conclution. 1 Cor8:5- 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many; 6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. It mentions 1 God and one Lord Jesus Christ, and it is through him are all things. interesting stuff :) jme |

Hi Steve 48The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?" 49"I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." 52At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death. 53Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?" 54Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word. 56Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad." 57"You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!" 58"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" 59At this, they picked up stones to stone this is to go along with my earlier post jme |

John 17: Jesus Prays for Himself 1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: 2"Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. Jesus Prays for His Disciples 6"I have revealed you[1] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify[2] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. The Supremacy of Christ 15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. John 20 17Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' " John 20 17Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' " John 20 17Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' " Matthew 4:8-11 8 Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, 9 and he said to him: "All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me." 10 Then Jesus said to him: "Go away, Satan! For it is written, 'It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.'" 11 Then the Devil left him, and, look! angels came and began to minister to him. There many other scriptures on this. I do not like to give my own opinions :) jme |

HI Steve I understand your thinking on this point. Many people even some Christians think this way.But ( there is always a big But :) ) Matthew21:42- 42Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: " 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone[8] ; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'[9] ? 43"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed."[10] 45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was talking about them. 46They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet. Matthew 23:27- 27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. 28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. 29"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! 33"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation. 37"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. 38Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'[4] " Romans 11 The Remnant of Israel 1I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel: 3"Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me"[1] ? 4And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."[2] 5So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.[3] 7What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened, 8as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."[4] 9And David says: "May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. 10May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever."[5] How do these scriptures compare to Romans 11. At first glance it looks like a contradiction. But it is not. First of all, the scriptures in Matthew says that God has cast off the nation of Israel. Now in Romans it mentions that God would never abandon his people. Here it is talking about a remnant people not the whole nation, these remnant were the first Jews that followed Christ, and was opened up to the Gentiles also. Thus the Gentiles also becoming spiritual Jews. Which I quoted in an earlier post.So now anyone has the opportunity become a part of Gods Kingdom. jme |

16 | Satan to look after the world? | John 10:28 | jme | 45771
Check out verse 8 where Satan temps Jesus with all the Kingdoms of the world. He could not have done this if he did not have them under his rule. Jesus took this seriously, because he new that Satan is the ruler of this world. ( It explains why the world is in the mess it is) Matthew 4 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered. 3 And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him. John 8:42- 42Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." Verse 30 is the verse that talks about the ruler of the world, Jesus and his Father want nothing to do with. John 14:23- 23 Jesus said to him, If a person loves me, he will obey me. My Father also will love him. And we will come to him and will live with him. 24 The person who does not love me does not obey me. The word which you hear is not my word. It is my Father's word. He is the one who sent me. 25 I have told you these things while I am still with you. 26 But the Holy Spirit is the one who will help you. My Father will send him in my name. He will teach you everything that I have said to you. His Helper will remind you of all that I said. 27 Peace is what I leave for you. I give you my own peace. People of the world also say, "Peace" to you. I do not say it as they say it. Do not let anything trouble your hearts. Do not fear. 28 You heard me say, "I am going away and then I will come back to you." If you really loved me, then you would have been very glad that I am going to my Father. My Father is greater than I am. 29 I have told you this before it happens. Then when it does happen, you will believe. 30 After this I will not talk much with you. The ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me. 31 I will do what my Father tells me to do so that the people of the world may know that I love my Father. Get up now! We must go. John 12:28- 28 Father, do what will make your name great. Then a voice from the sky said, I have already done that and I will do it again. 29 Some people were standing near. When they heard the voice, they said, It is thundering. Other people said, An angel talked to him. 30 Jesus answered them, This voice did not come for my sake, but it came for your sake. 31 It is time now for the world to be judged. The ruler of this world will be put out. Ephesians 2 1 Also you being dead in the trespasses and the sins, 2 in which once ye did walk according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all did walk once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath as also the others, 4 jme |

17 | jme, Is he saved? Yes or No. | John 10:28 | jme | 45769
These scriptures answer that question very well for themselves. I cannot add any thing of value to them. James 2:14- 14What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." 19Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder. 20You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[4] ? 21Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"[5] and he was called God's friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. 25In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. |

18 | jme, is the person in Jam 2:14 saved? | John 10:28 | jme | 45740
True faith is not the readiness to believe something without sound evidence or just because a person wants it to be so. Real faith requires basic or fundamental knowledge, with evidence as well as heartfelt appreciation of what the evidence indicates. It is impossible to have real faith with out accurate knowledge, but the Bible says that it is with the heart that one exercises faith. Romans 10:10 Hebrew 11 ASV 1 Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen. 2 For therein the elders had witness borne to them. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which appear. 4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for he hath had witness borne to him that before his translation he had been well-pleasing unto God: 6 And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised: 12 wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea-shore, innumerable. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Remember that God choose Satan to look after the world, so he had faith but through his own heart he lost favour with God. The same goes with Judas. jme |

19 | how can we loose our salvation. | John 10:28 | jme | 45723
Matt 24:12- 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. 1 Cor. 9:23 23 And I do all things for the gospel's sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof. 24 Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain. 25 And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air: 27 but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. Sorry the last post I thought was on Faith Here are two more verses for salvation jme |

20 | how can we loose our salvation. | John 10:28 | jme | 45720
Jas2:14- 14What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? There are lots more this is one I found. jme |
