1 | Does God hear me when I pray? | Eph 1:6 | jalanlambert | 177842
Hi Mark, Thanks for your insight, and scripture. I agree with you that sin in our lives is when we need God most. I believe that the Holy Spirit is busy making us aware of such sin. It is a really great opportunity for us to grow in our faith and learn dependence on the Lord. Our pastor said that because of the unconfessed sin, that a believer has no access to God until this is corrected. I disagree, but wanted to hear from others. How could a christian not be able to communicate with God because of unconfessed sin, yet if that same person died in that condition they would have access to God through the finished work of Jesus Christ and would immediately be in the presence of God. That analogy seems to be contradictory. Please help with any thoughts you might have or any scripture reference you might know of. jal |

2 | Does God hear me when I pray? | Not Specified | jalanlambert | 177838
This past Wed. our preacher said that if we don't ask for forgiveness from our sins, God will not hear our prayers even if we have been saved for years. I had always thought that once we get saved God remembers our sins no more. That they are as far as the East is from the West. Does God hear a Christians prayers even though they might have sin in their live?

12 | Were there 2 or 4 men hung on the cross | Matt 27:38 | jalanlambert | 165340
The 4 Gospels talk about the 2 thieves being hung on the cross with Jesus, and 2 malefactors being hung as well. I always looked at them as the same. I had someone tell me that there were really 4 people hung besides Jesus, 2 thieves and 2 malefactors. Matt. 27:44 says that both thieves mocked Jesus along with the (V41) chief priests, scribes and elders. Also Mark 15:32 says that those who were crucified with him reviled him. Luke 23:39 says that one of the malefactors who were hnged railed at him. (V40) says that the other rebuked the one that reviled Jesus. My Question is were there 2 or 4 men on the cross with Jesus, and why do some accounts of the event say they both reviled Jesus while other accounts say that only one did. Some accounts say thieves and other Gospel accounts say malefactors. Are they one and the same.? Thanks ahead of time for any light you can shed on this subject. JAL |

15 | Salvation is a gift to be accepted | Luke 6:46 | jalanlambert | 141082
Angel, How many times have you been saved today? For we know from scripture that God can't look upon sin. And I believe you will agree with me that we all sin each day, either by committing sin or omitting to do what God lays on our hearts. I believe that salvation is a gift from God to be accepted. Scripture says that God chastens His children. If we lose our salvation when we sin, then who is it that God chastens? One single sin separates us from God. Why do people not tell All, that will hear, that they have been born again everytime they get saved again, and again? Isn't salvation the second or third time just as important as the first? So I ask you again, how many times in your christian walk have you been saved? In Love, JAL |

19 | Does this mean they do not go to heaven? | Rom 8:9 | jalanlambert | 131988
GreggB, Read Romans 8:5-13. V8,9 "So then, they that are in the flesh cannot please God. V9 But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." When you get saved you automatically have the presence of the Holy Spirit in you. Those that work towards God in their flesh are of the flesh and are not saved. JAL |
