1 | The meaning behind James 2:14 | James 2:14 | inmyheart | 166134
Here is a commentary: *The demonstration of a living faith in acts of love 1. (14) The principle established: true faith will have works with it. a. James thinks it impossible that someone can genuinely have saving faith with no works; but one can say he has faith, but show forth no good works - can that kind of faith save him? b. These were Jewish Christians who discovered the glory of salvation by faith; but now, having been freed from works-righteousness, they have gone to the extreme of thinking that there is no need for works at all. c. James does not contradict Paul, who insisted that we are saved not of works (Ephesians 2:9); James merely clarifies for us the kind of faith that saves - we are saved by faith, not works, but saving faith will have works that accompany it. i. Paul also understood the necessity of works in proving the character of our faith; For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10); This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. (Titus 3:8) d. "But James has quite another thing in view, even to shew that he who professes that he has faith, must prove the reality of his faith by his works. Doubtless James did not mean to teach us here the ground on which our hope of salvation ought to rest; and it is this alone that Paul dwells upon." (Calvin) i. As the saying goes: faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is not alone. * Commentary from Blue Letter Bible |

5 | did Jesus have time to do what he wanted | Luke 9:11 | inmyheart | 163418
Jesus only did what His Father sent Him to do! Jhn 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Jhn 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. Praise God, we all should be about our Father's business, giving Him the Honor. God Blessings to you! inmyheart |

8 | Saved but not living for God? | Matt 6:33 | inmyheart | 163413
If you have been saved, why would a person go live in the world, but the word says; Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. My friend, whoever you are speaking of, God has given us promises that He will not leave us nor foresake us. As you know the things in the world are not everlasting, the backslider is missing the peace of mind, entering the rest of God, the provisions of life, and not to mention the testimony that of a persons life, reflecting the image of God, that the world is hungry for. God bless you and thank you for the question. inmyheart |

10 | could this woman of contentions be a ch | Prov 25:24 | inmyheart | 163190
You're welcome. I pray that the information you have received will give you greater insight as to whom it is that can change any situation. God can change a contentions women to a help meet (Gen.2:18 KJV). God bless you and please keep posting. inmyheart |

11 | could this woman of contentions be a ch | Prov 25:24 | inmyheart | 163165
It's my understanding that the man (or Woman) should have known what he/she was getting into before the two married. All marriages have their moments, but they are working on resolving issues. but the contentious man or woman, is not so, therefore, a person should not be unequally yoked (2Cor.6:14). It is not to say that the woman may be in a early maturing stage, and down the road the relationship will get better. inmyheart Mat. 19:26 |

13 | Trying to go straight | Rom 12:2 | inmyheart | 162841
If you were saved at 13 then you are saved now. Maturing in the Lord means for us to follow His direction for our life, He takes us from the pit that we were in to a life that will Honor Him. Somewhere in the three years of your salvation you were drawn away, but God loves and He will rescue you from your situation. I would love to dialog with you some more, but I have a responsiblity to this site, when we registered on this site we agreed to the terms, and in part this is what it states: "By registering in these areas, you are representing to The Lockman Foundation that you are at least 18 years old (or the minimum legal age in the jurisdiction in which you are viewing The Restricted Area)." There are many teen support groups in local churches, search it out and find a group that will meet your needs. Talk to your parents and if that is not possible right now, have a talk with your pastor and he may bridge the gap to connect you to your parents. You are not alone, do not let the devil fill your mind with guilt or shame, and whatever you do in life, do it for the Lord. Not everything is beneficall to us, 1 Corinthians 6:12. God bless inmyheart |

15 | Trying to go straight | Rom 12:2 | inmyheart | 162782
Romans 12:2 says do not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. It's a day by day process, the more we read God's Word the more we understand what His good, acceptable and perfect will for our lives should be. God understands your needs and He is always waiting to hear from you, so make your requests be known to Him. The day will come, my friend, that you will have new thoughts, and you will think on them, as it is written in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, THINK on these things. (KJV) Thank you for being open and honest about your situation and no matter if your sin was trying to be too good or if you were a hopeless addict, God can and will turn your situation around, He has that much grace and love, and He loves you may friend. God bless inmyheart |

16 | Verses for dealing with a childs illness | Bible general Archive 3 | inmyheart | 162330
Greetings, Welcome to this site. There are many verses in the four gospels that relate to healing, but God assures us that He is the Healer. God wants you to trust in Him and not to worry over your daughter. You stated that "God is looking over her" if you believe that then your soul is at rest, rest from worry, anxiety and stress. God's way's are not our ways and the paradox of life is, "if we keep our life, we will lose it, and if we lose our life for his sake, then we will find it." My friend there is strength in prayer, and I will link my faith with yours and pray for your daughters recovery. God bless you and you are really in Good Hands. inmyheart |

17 | Where is Abraham's test of faith? | Genesis | inmyheart | 162277
Let me see if I can put this another way for you to understand. Let's assume you go to the store and buy a light bulb, you get home and put it in your lamp, how do you know it's going to work? Well, before you bought the bulb the manufacturer tested it to make sure it would work! God, The Manufacturer, put a measure of faith in every man, God knows it works, and for man to know it works, God will test it. That's about it, I pray that all the information that you have received will bring the revelation you are looking for, and if you are still not sure, just meditate on it for awhile, it will come! How did you know you were going to be saved? By faith! God bless inmyheart |

18 | Christians/Catholics same? | Rom 3:28 | inmyheart | 162210
How about those Catholic Jews. If a woman was caught in adultery, she was stoned to death! Now that was a little humor. There are Christians in every church, Baptist, Luthern and etc. But the bottom line they will know we are Christians by our love for each other. Dear brothers and sisters, we always thank God for you, as is right, for we are thankful that your faith is flourishing and you are all growing in love for each other. 2Thess.1:3 (NLT) Peace and Love inmyheart |

19 | contradiction? | Genesis | inmyheart | 162145
Rats Feet, Make no mistake, he KNEW! Let's put it this way, God didn't just come up to Abraham one day and ask him to sacrifice his son, no, God demonstrated that Abraham could trust Him. If God could cause Abraham and Sara to have a baby in their nineties, then Abraham could trust God to provide a sacrafice. Abraham did not stagger at the promises of God. God bless inmyheart |

20 | God sanctions murder of the innocent? | Genesis | inmyheart | 162021
No, I'm not using circular reasoning, I quoted the word of God, and it says, Gen 22:5 Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship AND RETURN TO YOU." (caps to emphasis). The testing of Abraham's faith shows everything, he did not know when God would show up, it just so happened when Abraham was on the downward thrust of the knife that God stopped him. You may even examine your own faith, God may not have responded exactly when you wanted Him to, sometimes it's in that midnight hour, in the last minute of the testing that God shows up. As for me, I'm blessed by that verse, the Bible clearly states that faith comes from hearing.... Romans 10:17. God bless inmyheart 1Cor. 2:5 |
