1 | What does "perish" mean? | Acts 8:13 | habrown | 69557
The Bible clearly states that Saved people can fall away you can't read the bible rhetoricaly it must be taken literal in most cases this where our Disagreement is so we must just agree to disagree My dear brother, Cause I dont see God allowing sin into heaven Rev 21:8 I only read the bible 3 ways Literally, Figuratively when looking at parables, prophecy, or visions and I also look at whom is being spoken. I do believe That we are eternally secure if we live a decent life before God. We can not be perfect so do not hear me saying that. God knows our hearts and that is what we must keep right with the Lord. God Bless You Rev. Harold Brown |

2 | What does "perish" mean? | Acts 8:13 | habrown | 69522
Hank Read Hebrews 6 Also read James I think brother James tells us faith without works is dead Dont misunderstand me here Gods Gift to us is salvation thru The Blood Of Jesus only the Blood of Christ not works. Now James says Faith without works is dead well as a christian dont we need to go to church, Read the Bible, Love one another etc etc ... God does not take the Gift back but we can give it back or walk away from it the Bible speaks for itself, are you going to deny what scripture says?...Now Jesus did say that none would be taken from him John 10:28-30 but we can walk away on our own he wont leave us but we can leave him. The Bible speaks of apostates does it not?..Ones who have been believers but forsaken their way read 2nd Peter. Also are you denying what the Bible plainly says in Hebrews 10:26 FOR IF WE SIN WILLFULLY THERE NO LONGER REMAINS A SACRAFICE. Also look at the NIV wow its kind of scary to go and sin deliberatly after recieving the knowledge of christ READ Heb 10:26-31 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”£ and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”£ 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Now im not going to argue this point I have stated my position "With Scripture" now I say to you.. Do the same. I say these things in Love But I will not sugar coat what scripture says. I also believe in true repentance meaning you must turn from your sin and not go back to your former ways. Jesus said you must be born again to see the kingdom. Well thats all I have to say on this matter Hank please do reply but do so in an unargumentative way state your point with scripture. I believe from reading your other posts on this forum that you are a good Christian man who Loves the things of God, so Take care and I look forward to seeing your post God Bless You... |

3 | What does "perish" mean? | Acts 8:13 | habrown | 69459
As you say simon asked peter to pray for him I think that he repented or he wouldn't realized he needed prayer :) But you mean to tell me if you sin and continue to sin God will still allow you into heaven, I think not ! Read Rev 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Also before you say you are convinced are you convinced by what someone has taught you or have you read the scriptures for yourself not trying to start a debate but you can't tell me God will accept sin into his kingdom The Word of says different.I do agree with you as far as saying a Conditional Eternal Security, Condition being -- you Live as Holy of a life as you can So I believe perish meant Going to hell for eternal punishment. Dont Take me too harshly or too softly and take the Word of God with a balance. God Bless Rev. Harold Brown |

4 | What does "perish" mean? | Acts 8:13 | habrown | 69456
Also notice Simon did repent of his sin and I believe continued on in the faith. But repentence is required before you are forgiven repent means to turn from sin and not continue in the same sin... God Bless Rev. Harold Brown |

5 | What does "perish" mean? | Acts 8:13 | habrown | 69454
My Brother in Christ. I say this with love and also with warning. This can start an unwanted debate on this board. But I will give you my answer to this question in Love. Understand I am not and you are not anyones Judge but the Bible says in Hebrews Chapter 6 and Hebrews 10:26 there is no such thing as eternal security I believe eternal security to be a false doctrine. You cant be in sin and enter the kingdom of heaven Galatians 5:19-21. Also read the book 2nd peter read about the false teachers that used to be of like faith. ex: 2Peter 2 18-22. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who £have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,”£ and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” NKJV Dont mean to be harsh but the Word of God is Harsh sometimes. 6 | Israel-powerful nation-end days-where? | Ezekiel | habrown | 44383
Hi Kari: Read the book of Ezekiel chapters 37, 38, and 39. This section of scripture tells of nations rising against Israel in the last days. Gog is a prince of the north which is now modern day Russia and other nations will join him. Most of these nations being arab nations. If you would go and study world history "Im not saying you haven't" this will become very clear to anyone. When these nations come against Israel the Lords wrath or aword turns against these nations. This a very short answer to a very detailed subject. I dont usually do this but I will leave my email address at the end of this post so you can contact me directly if you wish to discuus and study this topic more in depth since this a very complex and hard to understand subject. God Bless You. Harold habrown@cablenet-va.com |

7 | Did Jesus pre-exist before his birth? | Gen 1:26 | habrown | 44085
Dear Shadowhisper: The answer to your question is absolutely positively Yes. Read Genisis 1:26 God said let "us" create man in "our" image. Compare this to Colossians 1:16. Christ was not just the son but also the creator along with the Father and the Spirit. Read also in the gospel of John Chapter 1 for scripture to show you who Christ is to say it plainly He is God who became flesh. I hope this clears up this matter for you. God Bless Harold |

8 | Visit other churches? | Rom 16:16 | habrown | 43990
Hey Charis; I have enjoyed your comments and you make a good point. My Pastor says the same thing about churches and preachers being imbalanced in their teachings. I attend a Pentecostal Church associated with the Church of God in Cleveland Tennesseee. I have attended several other churches to visit with friends and I believe that we are all one church regaurdless of how we practice our worship of the Lord Jesus Christ as long as it is the way Christ Himself said in John chapter 4:23-24 "23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” by quoting this I mean we must be going to church not out of tradition or obligation but we go to church because we Love our Lord and Our God. Your Brother in Christ Harold |

9 | Aren't we all accountable for our sins | Luke 13:3 | habrown | 43935
Hey Steve I agree with you and the Scriptures agree with you. We are all responsible for our own sins. Causing someone else to sin is a wicked thing as Christ taught us in Matthew chapter 18 but it is not unforgiveable anyone who says this is not reading the Bible "see Luke 17 1-6" for Christs teaching on offenses and forgiving your brother who sins against you in other words one who causes you to sin. I will quote James 3:1 as a teacher of Gods Word I stand under a greater and Stricter Judgement for being a Minister of the Word. If I being a teacher of The Bible says something that would cause a person to sin then I bring greater Judgment from God upon myself. As far as what this lady Judith says about A victim not being responsible for what they do as an adult because of abuse during childhood. I see where Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and fall short of Gods Glory. We all are responsible for our own actions after reaching an age of accountability. This may sound harsh but there is no scripture saying otherwise. We serve a merciful and gracious God but we tend to forget he is also a God of wrath and he passes righteous Judgements to his people and to sinners also. Our hope of salvation is in Christ He is the only way to Heaven and "all" sins will be forgiven by accepting his free Gift through Faith and repentence. The only thing he will not forgive us for is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. More scriptures relating to this subject can be found in: (Mat 18:10-17,Mark 9:42,Luke 17:1-6 God Bless Harold |

10 | Why would someone get rebaptised? | Bible general Archive 1 | habrown | 41822
Here is my best reply to this question. First off. Baptism does not save you repentance and faith in Christ save you the baptism peter speaks of is the baptism into the body of Christ. (Acts 2:38 and Rom 10:9-10) This is proven in (Acts 10:44-49) where peter preached Jesus to the house of cornellius when the people believed in Christ they recieved the Holy Spirit before being baptised in water. You cant recieve the Holy Spirit unless you recieve salvation first. Water baptism is just as important because peter said (Acts 2:38) repent and be baptised. Water Baptism is part of Christians First Works. Now.... The Bible speaks of Backsliders (Jeremiah chapter 3:14) and repentance (Acts 2:38 and 1st John 1:9). We are imperfect beings and therefore if we sin, we can call on Christ to forgive us and he will but, if we fall into a practice of sin that causes us to fall away from god. This would make a person unable to inherit the Kingdom God (Gal 5:19-21). If we backslide I believe that we must do our first works over just as Christ told the church of Ephesus to do in (Revelatioin chapter 2 verses 1 - 7). Read Below from the "NKJV" Talks about leaving your first Love which is Christ which is refering to a backsliden condition and Baptism is a first work... " I hope this helps." The Holy Bible, New King James Version Revelation 2:1 (NKJV) 1“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: Revelation 2:2 (NKJV) 2“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; Revelation 2:3 (NKJV) 3and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Revelation 2:4 (NKJV) 4Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:5 (NKJV) 5Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. Revelation 2:6 (NKJV) 6But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Revelation 2:7 (NKJV) 7“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’ |
